Do they require you to go thru basic training? Or can you join and be hired as an RN and start work at a base hospital?

I walked into a LTC facility and filled out an application. It took about 3-4 months but they did call me and interviewed me. Got hired and the rest is history. It has been great experience.

The best I can remember was vitals, hand washing and I had transferring from wheelchair to bed and vice versa and peri care on a female.

Where I work only the nurses do vitals, not the CNA. We have students coming to our facility soon and we (CNAs) make the students do everything from the get go. With us helping of course!

Yeah I guess you can say that. Like I said I've lived here almost all my life except for 3 years. People are rude and prudes! I just hate the area. Nothing to do! Pretty much boring!!!!

Trust me when I say it's bad, it's bad!!! I can't wait to move from here!!!

Sounds like a scam to me. Do not send anyone money. Anyone that asks you to send a large amount by the end of the day is a scam!!!!

I would recommend getting your prereqs done before going into nursing school. It's suicide to be studying for nursing classes and your prereq classes. I don't know about any other schools but the one I attend states and will happen that if you fail your prereq/Coreq class you will be dropped from the nursing program.

Not to burst your bubble.....we are understaffed, underpaid, and overworked!!! But the hard work makes a difference for the person you are taking care of!!

I absolutely loved micro!!! The teacher made it an awesome learning experience and enjoyed working with my unknown!!!

No way to test banks!!! That's cheating!!! I don't want anyone taking care of me or my family that used test banks to pass nursing!

I have people telling me "why are you going into nursing. You are crazy?" All because their life/job sucks doesn't mean mine will, and if this is truly what you want, then go after it. I have failed a nursing class at one time and came back and passed it the next time around. I am due to graduate soon and yes the classes have been hard and I study til I can't study anymore, but I still trudge on!! So can you!!! Don't be afraid to try something regardless of what other people say!!!

Yes they have entrance exams and high GPA And good grades are a must!!! I would just start looking at school websites of where you would like to attend and request information or talk to someone.

It is not hard to apply but like it has been stated the nursing programs at the community colleges are very competitive and some even have wait lists of 2 years or more.

I want to tell you 2 things about CAD.....but I'm afraid I'm giving too much info on those little words. Think about it. Read your info and your book and you will know what the 2 things that cause CAD are.

Nope. One girl called in and the other one didn't show up. So it was me on one wing for the entire night (11-7).
