  1. To everyone who does not get accepted, there is one positive; We won't have to put up with this cocky a**hole for three years. I am really unsure why someone who claims to be accepted feels the need to discourage others. People who are great don't need to bring others down to feed their own ego . I am unsure if you're ready for CRNA school- you might need to go back to grade school and learn some manners. Also some basic grammar and spelling. Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear and stay positive.
  2. Please tell me how you drew this conclusion.
  3. 15 minute interview. If you didn't get acceptance on the spot, did you get told a timeline of when you'll hear back?
  4. Did anyone who interview get clinical questions and did they do the critical thinking exam this year? Insights people please! Congrats on everyone who was accepted.
  5. Congratulations! Any tips? Did you get any clinical questions?
  6. Right now at my current job, I have worked the weekend schedule out by working every Sunday as opposed to alternate weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Today I had a interview at another hospital for a unit i really want to work at. I went in knowing that I would not bring up scheduling restrictions but if asked I obviously would not lie. Well the interview went well until the manager mentioned the weekend schedule at this hospital is Friday and Saturday and would this be an issue for me. Well obviously it is an issue.... I explained to her that I was religious and while I would be able to come in every Sunday and some Saturday nights, I really wouldn't be able to work a weekend night shift that's Friday and Saturday Night (Shift starts at 7:30 pm). There was a palpable feel of awkwardness but she went on and the rest of the interview continued. I know I won't get the job and it will be soley be based on the fact that I'm a religious Jew. This makes very upset. Did I do anything wrong? Could have I acted differently? Is there anything I can do now after the fact? I tried very much to convey to the manager that I am willing to be flexible and work with her. ...
  7. Brookdale hospital in brooklyn. Not as bad it seems. Great place to get your feet wet as a new nurse. You'll learn a lot and they hire tons of new grads.
  8. I spoke with the manager and she said they have chosen the fellows already... Sorry. Really bummed I didn't get it. I currently work medsurg at a hospital in Brooklyn. At this point, I would be thrilled to get a med surg job at lenox hill.
  9. Hi. I interviewed for the nslij ed fellowship at Lenox Hill for a second interview at the site on 6/18. They told me it would take 2-3 weeks to hear an answer. Needless to say, I am so nervous. I really want the job. Anybody else here interview (at Lenox Hill or for the other hospitals fellowship at nslij) and did anyone get a offer yet? Or hear back with a no????
  10. Are you transferring there for the ed fellowship?
  11. You can start applying even before you have your license. There's lots of new Graf oppertunitis and don't miss out on them! Google new grad residencies.
  12. Hi. I went for the interview today and I brought my regular knapsack and just asked the receptionist to keep it at her desk. The actual interviewer did end up seeing my bag on the way out.... either way, it was no problem bc I already got the call for the second interview this Thursday !! It's for a ed fellowship for a big hospital in nyc and I am very excited.
  13. Hi I have a interview on Monday where I will be taking public transit to the interview and immediately heading out to my current rn job go after. Would it be OK to bring my backpack? I need my scrubs to change into after and i won't have a car to store my stuff in. And if i do bring it do u think I can ask the person at the desk to hold it for me? Or just bring it into the interview and say I'm heading to work after... Or bring it and say nothing ? Tips advice please!
  14. Lol wish I had advice for you but I seem unable to land a job! So someone else should share their secrets.
  15. @klw96 i deleted my messages so u can pm me now and I appreciate all your help!
  16. They are on a hiring freeze. I interviewed there bc someone I know is on the board.... they got me a interview and I met with the nurse recruiter and she started off the interview by saying WE ARE NOT HIRING. What a waste of my time!
  17. Good question! Wish I knew the answer... please someone give some insight
  18. What position are you interviewing for? I didn't take their pharm exam but I would review the basics. I took a few hospital pharm exams and be prepared for med calc, insulin, digoxin, heparin, coumadin.... even if u don't know the answer just remember to pick whatever could be a safety hazard. Good luck. Also search on the site. I'm sure someone posted about the Beth Israel pharm exam
  19. As long as you have interviews that means they are still interested! Stay positive and good luck
  20. They send that email to everyone who does well on the career battery. They have limited posistions that are suitable for new grads. You may get a offer and you may not. I would continue to look in the meantime. I received the same email after I took the battery in December and have yet to have a offer
  21. I interviewed there for a L and D position and I took the pharmacy exam and met with the recruiter. I was immediately sent over to meet with the nurse manager. I thought the interview went well and told me to expect a call from HR in 2 weeks. Its not two weeks yet but I'm so nervous. If I was you I would call the recruiter and see what happens. The worst that can happen is that you get a no but that's better than not knowing.
  22. Was it a interview with a recruiter or nurse manager? Sometimes it takes a while for am offer to be made.... A week isn't that long.
  23. I don't know anything about nyu or stoneybrooks acceleratd program but my friend went to pace's accelerated program and had a horrible expeirence. She said she felt like there was no support from the faculty and lots of disscommunication. I would go to nyu if it was my choice.
  24. I graduated over a year ago and have yet find a new grad job in nyc. It's very hard not to take it personally especially since I have actually been I have been on quite a few interviews. But when I show up to these interviews I am competing against nurses with way more experience. Seriously for 1 position they interview 30 plus people and it's so hard not to beat yourself up not getting the job. Just keep applying and mix up your cover letter to see what may get you a response. It's so hard but I hope soon we can reap the benefits of our hard work!
  25. Ok thanks. Feels good to have someone help decode my interview! I am so sick of interviews. I want a job already!!
