  1. Question...can you apply for the program with only high school background. Will I get accepted only if I have my H.S. Dipolma. I have not taken any prereqs...also is there a limit to how many people can get accepted to the program?
  2. To be honest, with either program you are going to graduate and finish around the same time...Feburary 14 will be May 15, and Sept 14 will be July 15. Now since you failed out of the first two, I think you should wait unitl the Sept classes start to you can take time to review your information and take care of personal problems you had if you did. By starting in Feb, you may not be quite ready yet to take on the challenge once again that soon. But honestly it is really up to you and how confident you feel about the programs.
  3. I feel that there are many reasons why someone would chose being a CNA as a career. The training is short, fast, and easy, and the fact that if there will always be a need for Nurses, there will always be a need for CNAs. Some are okay with the pay and do not mind moving up slowly, and plus the schedule offered as well. I personally would choose being a CNA as my career for the rest of my life, but I would work under the title for a good few years until I become a Nurse or whatnot.
  4. Dont go into nursing school if... ...Are not quite sure what you REALLY want to do ...You do have anyone to watch your kids while you are in school (if you have kids) ...You only do it because your parents want you too ...To show off to your family and friends ...If you think you are going to have nights, weekends, and holidays off Last...If you are only in it for the MONEY!!! The worst reason to become a nurse, you can make all the money in the world and hate your job.
  5. Well it all depends on where you live, I live in San Antonio and many of the hospitals do not require a CNA to have any experience to serve basic care, now if you want to assist the OBGYN or Cardiac Nurses, than they look for 1 year. I would include any details that you have at any of your jobs that can relate to the job. Worked at the mall, or restaurant...thats customer service, say that you "provided customers with appropriate items and needs that they desired" It sounds like you can you that sentence for any job. If you have to start in a Nursing home, start...at my job I work in the dietary department and I plan on starting CNA school in March, we have to stay in our department for 1 years before we trasnfer. So it all depends!
  6. Well I currently work in a hospital in the dietary department but I really want to connect with patients and help them overcome their health issues that they are experienceing. I also feel that some of these people are going through a hard time and have no family to visit so I would love to make a huge difference in someone's life.
  7. Well, Im 22 and I hope to get started when I am around 24...I used to feel that I was way behind becuase I didnt know what I wanted to do when I was 18 and first going to college, but I found out that it is never too late to begin any career.
