  1. I loved OB. The nurses were more than willing to teach me. I showed an interest and respect for their practice. The nurses rewarded me by letting me participate in a delivery. I thanked all the nurses and patient for educating me.

  9. Btw. Work history is huge. I've been working since I was 16. I don't understand how people can't work. I played sports all year round and worked in the summer. In college I worked even on full time status. Working during school shows employers that you can actually hold a job.
  10. If there are no new grad jobs in your area move to an area where there are new grad jobs. Get your experience and move back to your area you'll have experience and power to decide where and when you would like to work.
  11. I'm skinny and my appearance to me matters greatly. However, I have hypertension and high cholesterol. So physical looks cannot accurately tell how healthy a person is.
  12. Tomorrow is my level 2 final. I have gained twenty pounds since august. Waist Increase from 34 to 37. That's what nursing school can do to your exercising. I can't wait for summer. I will run until my shins snap in half.

  18. Bros I have never felt discriminated against in peds OB fundamentals in the cohort or in the library. I give respect and demand respect even as a student. In OB i had female nurses pushing me into the delivery room. They knew how much I wanted to be in the delivery process and made sure it happened. I continually thanked each nurse and patient for the opportunity to learn and they reciprocated by giving me harder assignments. As for the fellow female nursing students. When I hear them starting the hate game I take my pen and assessment papers and find a corner to actually focus on my patient. Don't look for trouble. Sincerely, Bro
  19. Dude just get a pair of old people new balance walking shoes all white. They are super comfortable. I'll probably wear them after school. No shame in the game.
  20. My priorities before nursing was work hitting the gym running and playing with my pug. During nursing school my priorities are nursing nursing nursing and nursing. My dog and I have put on some weight. : (
  21. Khan academy helped me brush up on science and math shortcuts.
  22. I'm half Japanese and Hispanic. I don't get any special ins. I only think it's helpful if your are culturally and lingual lay connected. If you can do that you are valuable to a hospital.
