JFK MUHLENBERG LPN TO RN
The lectures depends on the instructors I think we had lectures on tuesdays from 5pm to 9pm it could end sooner or later, and clinicals weds and thurs I opted for one day weekend and we mostly got out early, and I loved how during the week I could be with my kids and have time for studying. They expect you be available til 10pm. Sometimes requiring to come to site unexpectedly. Nursing is not for the weak. Your life will revolve around it. But well worth it! Dsy shift was from 9am to 3pm day track, and transition track was, I think from 9am to 1pm

Professors are good, some are kinder than others, get study partners be nice to fellow classmates, some have study guides that they may share. For the TEAS I used the TEAS study book and some questions were identical to the book. Get the book it will help you to identify the areas that you need to improve. I will link the book I used. Your welcome! The Summer transition is OK but its 6 weeks long Monday thru thurs either day or night. From 4pm til 9pm I did. It's just to catch you up with the rest of students entering 3rd semester as you will be after the transition. During the other semesters 2 days of lectures during the week and 2 days of clinicals. You can opt to do weekend clinicals one day on sats or Sunday 12 hours.

Yes you have a great chance getting in, as long as your TEAS score meets minimum requirements. The essay just asks why and what is your inspirations to becoming an RN. I knew several new grads LPN'S that went straight into the bridge. I Graduated in June 2021. It's challenging, stressful but you will be prepared.

I believe you still need to fill one out because the loans will be subsided and unsubsidized federal student loans, the school does have a payment plan. Nonetheless they will make sure you apply for loans or do what you must . Don't worry about it too much.

Thank you, I am in the lpn to RN program that's why im almost done. They help you with everything, you must fill out a FAFSA. They ask you if you want the loan, if yes then they will supply you with the necessary documents to fill out. It's a pretty seamless process. Their might be some out of pocket cost, the loan may not cover everything.I also receive tuition reimbursement through my union. After you paid for your term and completed with a passing grade the bursar's office will give you any documents needed for proof of payment for reimbursement. Staff communicates mostly through email and do reply promptly all the time.

LOL, nothing bad to say, it's going good, im in nursing 3 evening class. Lecture is on Mon and Thurs, I opted for weekend clinicals which is on sundays for 12 hrs, this is helpful, convenient because I work and have children. Day shift have clinicals on Sat for 12 hrs. If you prefer clinicals during the week it's usually tues, and weds. Please keep in mind, weekends are an alternative and is at first request, first served. Weekends clinicals may not always be available. You must read your assignments and study hard. Lecture are on canvas either zoom, blackboard, or on webex. The professors and clinical instructors are extremely helpful. They really want you to pass, it's not a condescending environment. There is alot of paperwork, and powerpoints if you don't have a printer, you should invest in one. Also, have a computer that support downloading extra software. Exams are proctored via you computer camera. GOOD LUCK! If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Nurse 119 I believe does not have clinicals, second semester does.

Married or in a committed relationship students
I was in an identical situation just that I'm a woman, while my husband resented my dedication to obtaining my lpn and now my RN. Alot of it is resentment and the fact that you are putting your goals before the family( not my opinion, just repeating my husband's take). Just keep postive reinforcement and say that this will benefit the family in the long run. She probably feels that since she is the breadwinner household chores shouldn;t be her priority. If you can work part time then do so. You must bend on that and like the previous commenter said, it;s OK if it's behind. Ask her does she have any aspirations, that she may want to accomplish. Tell her daily that you appreciate her supporting the family. I understand how you feel, I was there as well. Keep pushing, keep your eye on the prize!

It is doable, staff have been great to work and learn from. Everyone is supportive and want you to pass. It was slightly disorganized because of covid and having to be on canvas (ucc). The tests are proctored that is an annoyance.

Are you already an LPN I just finished my transition course, expect clinicals twice a week, mostly at JFK med ctr lecture is twice a week. You must complete your reading assignments take good notes during lectures, tests are based on the lectures and can get tricky you must understand concepts. It was a good experience and I will be moving on to Nursing 3!
