Nursing School. Did you work?
I work 12 hours per week and juggle 18 credits this semester. I think working while going to school depends on what you are like. I thrive off being busy. Even though I get tired, having so much to do keeps me on track.

2.52 cumulative GPA, and I already have a BS. Can I get into nursing school
I can only speak about my school, which would not accept that. Can you retake your science classes to bring those grades up? And possibly find a school that looks strictly at your pre requisite grades.

Not sure what to do....
If all you want is a job, then stay away from nursing because you aren't guaranteed one and if you do get one, you need the right mindset for it. What did you plan on doing with your biology degree? Become a professor, a teacher, a scientist? Any other areas if healthcare that you are interested in?

New RN Nursing Student
Your school really made out like a bandit on that one. What is that person working as now?

Did any one struggle with low self-esteem in nursing school?
Akulahawk is right. New things are uncomfortable. Remember learning vital signs? It is pretty nerve wrecking at the time but I am sure you are an old pro at it now, after a year of nursing school. Consider Dr. Benner's nursing theory: novice, advance beginner, competent, proficient, expert. It can take years to get to the next stage... but you will get there. You may always feel like a novice but your skills and confidence will improve.

How is having a dog during nursing school?
By "out" on Fridays, do you mean outside your house in a yard? Because that is not fair to the dog. I would look into someone stopping by your house and taking the dog to the bathroom.

5 More Weeks!
As Dory would say, "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming".

What's your opinion?
I am halfway through my nursing program and a new member of this website. I have the option of taking medical surgical 1 in the spring and pediatrics in the summer or pediatrics in the spring and medical surgical 1 in the summer. I have no idea what to do. Which is a better course sequence? What did you find harder? What did you have to take first? Thank you!
