What to Do If CNA Instructor is Hard to Deal With (Advice Needed)
I have been wanting to go to nursing school and a prerequisite is that I have my CNA. Well I searched and found a course and when I had iniitially spoke to someone on the phone I was told I could take the evening class (right now I'm a school bus driver). Well the day that I go to pay my money I find out through the instructor not enough people signed up for the evening course so it wouldn't be offered. After going back and forth, she said she could work with my schedule. We had it figured out and she told me I definitely had to do 2 of my clinical days at a particular site and she said she knew another facility that would allow me to get my other clinical hours on the weekend or in the evening. Well one day I get the bright idea to try and do the 3rd clinical day with my class on my little break....... I found that I would have been exhausted and called the office and told the receptionist that we would stick to the original plan (I had already completed 3 days of clinicals). The instructor calls me and tells me that I can not call the shots and I should have talked to her (I tried but they told me she was unavailable). Then she goes on to tell me she doesn't know when she can get me in for my last day of clinical. I'm wondering if she had agreed to work with my schedule then why has it been weeks since I completed the course. I completed the course 3 weeks ago, passed all tests just missing the 1 day. I really think she's trying to be funny. I'm out of my money and have called her last week and she hasn't returned my call. What should I do?

Feeling like I'm in a rut with school and I really need some advice...
You're not the only one. I'm in a bit of a rut as well. I was going for IT (Computer Networking) first and now I'm trying to get into nursing. I'm finding that I'm not really interested in my classes I'm currently taking and I'm doing OK but I love science. Don't be so hard on yourself. If you meet the requirements to get into the program why not? You may find that you do better than expected. Best of luck!

Looking for A CNA program
You sound like me. I feared blood as well but overcame it. Try looking around for a reputable training program. I found that not every program enables you to take state exam. Many here in NC took mini courses and had to take them again. Contact your state agency and yhey should be able to assist. You need the practical and clinicals as well as theory. The program I'm in is 5 weeks and I'm done next week. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted

How do you stay motivated? Please share...
What motivates me? My children. The crappy job I have now as a school bus driver motivates me. Having to rob Peter to pay Paul motivates me. I know no matter what I am in control of my future. 2 of my friends are APRN's and they always give me great advice.
