  1. Which school for BSN to get CRNA?

That is a pretty good GRE score I think it's pretty competitive. You GPA is not bad but it's not stellar either. As far as the one year Trauma ICU well my firend no only will that enhance your options it is required by the AANA (1 year critical ca...
  2. Alternative Loans - here's what I've found

And then some. Money should never be a worry when going to CRNA school. I always suggest atleast taking out the stafford loans. If you end up working for the VA or some other federal employer or military they will pay back $20,000 / year in federa...
  3. gre in less then 30 days

CRNA school is not a cookbook approach it's putting together concepts to formulate an answer from a MASSIVE amount of theory thrown at you. The GRE is pretty simple math and some infrequently used vocabulary words.
  4. Anyone purchase Anesoft Anesthesia simulator

I am currently an SRNA and wonder if anyone has ever purchased this software or know anything about it. This seems like it might be a good complement to the virtual gas machine website I have been using during school.
  5. gre in less then 30 days

If you have that much test anxiety for this menial exam how are you gonna pass a CRNA program?

  7. Children and career?

    Yeah I could. Can YOU
  8. Nursing Salary...

When I was traveling I was making over $130,000 per year as a traveling RN. That is where the money is.
  9. Nursing Salary...

Money is a pwerful motivator and I personally don't think it indicates a level of care. However, if you do not like your job no amount of money is going to make you happy and bedisde nursing is a hard thankless job.
  10. activated charcoal

Did the poster ask about blood?
  11. Children and career?

  12. ER/hospital billing for aggravated sexual assault

While I understand your concern and certainly see your frustration the hospital still needs to be paid. They are a business just like anything else. As far as a victims fund some states do have those funds available although not sure if it is for ...
  13. survived the bon and 5 day eval

Remember you are only getting one side of the story
  14. Chemistry classes?

I took a 5 credit combo organic/biochem class I think it was Chem 108 but definitely a lower level chem class and it helped me immensely during the first semester. I recommend that class and the 2 general chem classes should prepare you well enough....
  15. I am not sure what you are referring to can you quote my post you are referring to? Thanks
  16. Paramedics are taught advanced airway management as a standard and perform alot more intubations than an RN. I wouldn't have a problem with a paramedic perfroming RSI.
  17. You are wrong if you think because a Dr. orders it you can give it. You are not governed by a physician but rather nurse practice acts.
  18. ER vs ICU

What state do you live in?
  19. ER Nurses Treated Different in my Hospital!

When I worked ER we tried to get all the patients up as quickly as possible. Mainly because the pizza was getting cold, beer was getting hot and the football game was on TV.
  20. ER vs ICU

I agree the best nurses are both ICU and ER trained. Two different areas but each has it's positives. I personally hated ICU and loved ER but worked ICU to get into school. It's amazing what you are willing to put up with to reach a hard earned go...
  21. What I found out and was totally surprised is that the use of some anesthetics is strictly for CRNA's and Anesthesiologists even though most crital care nurses use propofol and I remember running numerous tracrium drips in ICU as well for vented pati...
  22. Travel / Strike nursing

You could say it is no more unethical to work a strike as an RN than it is to abandon patients and strike in the first place. I've worked strikes before the money is good and I had a lot of fun. You and your family come first, and if people choose...
  23. ER vs ICU

Most programs do not even consider ER as critical care and will not even look at your app. That being said some will take ER but when weighted together I would tend to believe ICU would get the nod.
  24. I finally walked out the door

Congrats, I would like to see more nurses walk out instead of putting up with crap or complaining full time.
  25. North Carolina HB503 is officially dead

Man you gotta love CRNAs and their abilities to get things done. I envy and respect those that have gone before me with all the work. This is one SRNA who will be writing additional checks to AANA or state CRNA groups when I graduate. (in addition ...
