  1. you have a great attitude and you have to know that you will fit somewhere and succeed stay positive and you will find the job that suits you good luck
  2. sciency stuff? hilarious
  3. I love this site you all tell it like it is
  4. I stumbled on AN doing a nursing school search about six months ago and I feel I learn so much....almost all the comments are helpful and its fun to share comments I will continue to come back
  5. You could always stop telling people that you want to be a nurse...just a thought
  6. You can volunteer and meet as many nurses and hr managers and let it be known you're a nursing student and will be applying for a job when you graduate...while maintaining a good rapport as a volunteer..either way you should get a job... Good luck
  7. I agree with twinner05..but I think your volunteering will count as well..you can go the nurse aide route to have experience in a hospital setting but working with doulas...I would ask advice from the CNM/FNP that you come in contact with hopefully they can give you advice on how they did it...give it a try can't hurt...Good Luck that's also my specialty I want to get my CNM/FNP Good luck and happy catching'
  8. That's a tough job...I commend you for owning up to your mistakes but its also hard working in a LTC and being a brand new aide or employee we are all bound to make mistakes...the best part is every time you show up to work you are learning something new..hang in there its get better...Good luck to you
  9. Kimbsntobe replied to TexRN's topic in Pre-Nursing Students
I'm interested in becoming an L&D nurse once I'm finished with nursing school...But my ultimate goal is to get my Midwifery
  10. The saddest thing to see is nurses and doctors with no bedside manner...The funny part is the patients know---get some experience first then climb the ladder like everyone else
  11. The fact you dont drive and have a car is probably limiting you...per-diem means you will work any shift not just daytime weekend hours...and they probably thinking if they hire you--you will be a no-show come winter time you should try and get a license if not a car they want someone reliable and public transportation is not always reliable...good luck
  12. When you reapply for A&P 1 see if they is a study guide for the book...I was having difficulty in A&P 1 and then got a study guide with the textbook it helped me so much....good luck and study, study, study and you will get it...Also flash cards-rewriting the difficult to understand material...good luck
  13. You could actually look online in your area to find vocational schools and take the CNA classes...you asked for advice and I think Don is giving you the best advice...You don't have to minor in Cna classes if they dont offer them in your school...they have vocational schools you could probably take if it fits in your schedule...Best of Luck
  14. Khanacademy.edu or you tube.com and the name of your science course....study hard and good luck
  15. I say Plan B also, and check to see if you can take micro before taking A&P classes
  16. You should search community colleges in your area they will have the necessary pre-reqs and you should be able to do them online...but you can search the cc nearest you so when and if you have to travel to campus...its in your area...Good Luck
  17. Some ppl not born in this country always test positive for tb; I used to work with a nurse who was born in Asia...she always tested positive they should still let you in the rn program...good luck
  18. Did I miss something? OP never said what FON241 is? what kind of class? so I can't give correct advice...sorry
  19. Congrats..almost sounds like me but i did give up and now decided to start back again thanks for the uplifting...Good Luck in Nursing school
  20. I learned after you take a refresher course take the nclex exam...The material only stays clear if you take your exam with in 2-4wks of taking a refresher course....You can do it...I had a hard time passing my LPN nclex took a refresher course and the instructor of the course called me at home and said take it within 2wks i waited 1 more wk took it and passed with flying colors...So take a refresher and then take nclex and you will do fine...Good Luck....
  21. Thanks for the link I think it will really help me create better study habits....thanks
  22. It sounds like you never took the exit exam, that's what it sounds like they want you to take...but you're freaking out and your school is only trying to help you...If you take the competency test find your weakness...they can help you to so you can pass you nclex....One year of after graduating is a long time and i think your school is only trying to help you....Good Luck hope everything works out for you
  23. I just have to say I am very "judgemental"....at first reading this I thought you were a man and i was about to throw the book and you and ream you for hitting your poor wife... but when you said I barely touch my husband i said ***.....and changed my mind...and said you couldn't have possibly hurt him and that is just sexist...Men can be abused also i guess this have nothing to do with the ? i just had to share this
  24. Long term Care facilities is the place to start to gain experience...maybe outpatient clinic or relocate if needed but i would stick with nursing homes if i didn't want to move to another state
  25. Wow the OP has a lot to learn all of the ideas and comments are great...If hospitals are not hiring try something else...There are jobs out there it seems you didn't get the ideal job maybe?...close to home:yes:...near your favorite hangout :roflmao:and you let loose... My advice is grow up and look for a job like an adult then maybe you will find a job...You will be an experience nurse as soon as you look for a job where actual ppl are hiring...grow up and respect the nurses who you will need to hold your hand....
