  1. I am in my first semester and I am 50 and loving it! I think nursing is a calling and no matter how old you are, you can do it!
  2. Sarah, Some weeks we are there 5 days a week and others we get one day off. Clinical are on Wed. or Friday from 8 to noon roughly your first semester. It is definitely a full time job because when you are not at school, you are studying. Its a great school and the teachers really want you to succeed. I'm at the halfway point in 1st semester now and I am still loving it!
  3. You will be fine, I am 50 and will be starting my first semester in an RN program. I am scared and nervous and excited all at once but I keep telling myself I have lived longer, expeirenced more and worked the same job for 26 years which shows a good work ethic. I went back to college in 2012 and made the Dean's list both semesters! I was the kid in high school who had to look at my diploma to see if it was even signed! Age gives you a better understanding in some areas, don't forget that and Good Luck to you!
  4. I cant remember, I do remember several people coming down to the front row. I was comforting the girl next to me that looked like she was about to cry! They laid it on us today and I am still trying to sort it all out in my brain. I was sitting on the far end of the front row. I asked the question about who do we call if we run into an accident on the parkway for those of us who are driving some distance to get there. Does that ring a bell? How ironic that we both have the same last name. lol I remember signing those sheets today and seeing your name and thinking no , she couldn't have the same name as me.
  5. PS, I just noticed we have the same last name! I was signing sheets behind you all day!
  6. I tried to find you today, I asked 3 girls if they were Lara. lol too many blonds that look like your pic there today. I was the old woman in the green top and ponytail in the front row if you saw me. We are going to have to tell each other what color to look for Monday.
  7. Yes,that's them give or take a few. I am not a math person and of course that is the book they are out of. Deep breaths, here we go!
  8. Yes I hope to see you tomorrow also, word of warning, if you have not picked up your books yet, take a dolly! I took my roll away book bag and had to stop and organize just to get everything out the door with the zipper open mind you. They were also out of the math books so I have to go back for that one.
  9. I attended MCC in the 80's (telling my age now) but was offered a good paying job in Administration. I did that for 26 years before the office shut down. I went to OCC the last two semesters. I got excepted to both programs but everyone kept telling me MCC had a great program so I chose to go there. It will be hard from what I am seeing on these boards ( enough to scare you to death! ) but we can do it if we really give it our all. I have several friends one who is a NPR and he said it is a great school.
  10. Our testing site did not specify but, I wore my scrubs. There was two of us in the class that wore them while everyone else wore street clothes. It just put me in CNA mode and I was comfortable so if you want to wear them and don't have to buy them go for it!
  11. Hi! I was curious if there are any other students starting the 2013 RN program at Madisonville? I am getting excited about orientation on Wednesday and hoping it will calm my nerves! I hope this class will stick together and help each other with study groups and long lasting friendships since it looks like from all the post I have read on here, they will be our pseudo family for two years!
  12. Hi, I will also be starting the 2013 RN program at Madisonville. Nervous and excited!
  13. Anyone else out there starting the ADN program at OCTC this fall? I don't know anyone in the program and would love to hear from anyone also accepted to the program.
  14. Hi! I'm starting at OCTC in Owensboro RN-BSN program. Orientation in August, very excited and nervous!
