Speeding tickets are considered infractions and not misdemeanors except for special cases like reckless driving but that may still be an infraction.
  2. Funny beacuse I said the same thing to myself a few days ago when I wanted to go see "War of the Worlds".
  3. I think you need to find your own purpose in life. You can still do what your doing now and still find time to explore tons of different activities to make yourself feel better. My primary purpose is to serve God and my family (parents, brother and sisters. I'm not married) and to also do whatever it is that I want to do that makes me happy and fullfills gaps in my life. One thing I love doing is exercising. I lift weights, swim, run (training for a marathon in December), bike, etc... I also like to read textbooks (yes you heard me right). Try setting some short-term and longterm goals for yourself. Go hiking, do some traveling even if it's still in the same state but don't tell yourself that your stuck in "one" life, because you arn't so try to change some things around and you will be fine. There is no one purpose in life and you don't even need to find a purpose in life, just live and try to be happy. Hope that helps a bit, good luck!
  4. I am definetely in it for the money...but also because I care about people and I love learning almost everything medical/health related. The problem is when people go into nursing and many other fields for only the money and for none of the other reasons.
  5. I guess you could say that but it depends on how you look at it and how you compare certain situations. I may have a weakness compared John Doe, but compared to Joe Bob it could be a strength.
  6. You might say " I don't necessarily have any weaknesses, but what needs the most improvement from my strenghts is such and such..." It could be worded a little differently but I would personally say something like that.
  7. If your talking about introduction to Chemistry, I can give you my professors website where he posts his powerpoint presentations and it might help if you go through them. Just PM me for the site and I'll have it for you by then if you want it.
  8. If you were there as a patient, what does it matter what you said to that lady. You should only be held liable for saying something wrong when your on the clock and "working" if I'm right. If they are not paying you for your time there, how can they hold you responsible for saying something you shouldn't have said to another patient (especially since you didn't say anything wrong).
  9. That does seem a bit strict but that's probably for the better. I would think that our nursing program probably has something along those lines with extra precautions taken during exams to catch cheaters. I'm not in the program yet so I don' t know. The only classes I wouldn't really care if anyone cheated in are the General Education like Art 1A(art history), music history, etc...Unless they are Art majors or music majors of course. But for a nursing major, it shouldn't matter much.
  10. I wouldn't tell the teachers/professors who's cheating on a test b/c I don't really care if anyone else does it as long as I end up in the nursing program myself and they end up passing the NCLEX. I'm not saying it is the right thing to do, but if I was cheating on a test I wouldn't want someone to go tell the professor. If that someone really cared they would talk to me and tell me that cheating isn't going to get me anywhere and maybe give me some advice on how to study better or something along those lines and try to help me out instead of trying to get me kicked out of the school. But that's for classes related to nursing. I really don't care if someone in the nursing major is cheating in a Art 1A class for general education unless that somehow relates to patient care. And I definetely wouldn't tell a professor about that kind of situation. Half of the GE classes are just useless anyways.
  11. When you write the research paper try to keep in mind what others will think of your paper when they read it. Too many quotes and cites makes reading an essay/paper feel choppy. It feels like you are almost, coming, to, a, stop, and because of the way it flows reading it can be annoying. Try to keep your audience in mind. The readers want to be able to understand what you are talking about so try to paraphrase a lot of the quotes or you could spend more time trying to explain what many of your quotes are talking about and try to analyze those quotes using your own words. Remember, if I'm reading your research paper for the first time and I know nothing about nursing or nursing unions, by the end of your paper I should have a fairly good idea about some of the major issues concerning the topic without having to re-read the entire paper. You should probably ask a tutor or a friend to read your final draft and tell you what they think before you turn it in. Maybe you could post part of it on this forum and we can help. Hope that helps a little.
  12. Wow, 12 months is so short. I'm not in the nursing program yet, but ours is 5 semesters long with the option of 6 semesters for extra classes. Of course it's not an accelerated program but still, 12 months sounds so short. Either way, good luck!
  13. If it was me in her situation, I would still want to live. Even if it meant not really having a "life" but at least I would be alive. I would like to see her live.
  14. Just wanted to say hi to everyone because this is my first post. To answer you question, here in North California I had a friend with an ADN (maybe and RN) straight out of school get $37.00/hr. That makes me very happy because hopefully in 3.5 years I will be a RN also. :)
