  1. Go Kaplan for priority training!
  2. Don't be exaggerated, Psycho...but it is "SUPEROKIE" once for a while! Hooray! :chuckle :rotfl: :Melody:
  3. See, I cannot find another word to say...except CONGRATULATIONSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Buy me a brownie and a cup of coffee please!
  4. I only used Kaplan. I did only 1000 questions for practice of Kaplan too. I passed at the first attempt! However, what I want to say, no matter what you use, make good use of it. Know your stuff well. It would be nice to do more and more practice items but do review them one by one till you can completely play it with your all fingers. Always remember, "Quality comes first!" Good luck!
  5. Wish you luck and keep praying for you! :Melody:
  6. I am sorry to hear that you are still waiting. Call them. I called them 2 when I waited for 2 weeks. I asked the lady over the phone, "Do you think I have to prepare the retake right now?" She replied, "NO,(paused 1/2 sec) I cannot tell you that!" Maybe, she gave me the hint already but I did not pick up...at that time. If you call...use your wisdom to see you can get any hint from them! The staff there are nice, I believe, but still the board of nursing is curt and inflexible, stone him! :angryfire

I am here, there, everywhere! Hooray! :rotfl:
  8. Dear bcjams, I have the same problem like you after the NCLEX I took in Pasadena, CA at Feb 28. I got 75 and I am sure the first one and the last one were correctly answered. However, in between, all about priority...me...had no clue at all...Anyway, I do and I did my best...I waited 17days...my confidence kept lagging... and the mail came in just yesterday...and...now I am an official RN in California! So are you! Keep your fingers crossed, we will pray for you. PS: Do you have quick result in Iowa? QUOTE=bcjams]I think i failed it...is it "realistic" that i failed with. I dont think so but I dont know. I made good grades in school I studied for a month 5 hours a day I know my patho and my pharm and my math I know I got the "who do you go see first before they die questions" BUT MY GOD IT MOSTLY OBSCURE OUT IN THE IOWA CORNFIELD PT TEACHING ON BIZARRE PT STATEMENTS and did the need more teaching or not. I got thru school on pharm and patho. "Think your way out of every situation" was my motto ....But my god...my nclex was all about pt teaching on freaking wierded out nutjobs making mucho bizarro statements about obscure meds...not bp meds not heprin or warfin or insulin...but some 3rd line cancer drug and can a grandpa with radiation beads in his behind put his kids on his lap and read stories to them....NO...ITHINK? I WOULDNT BUT...i must sleep one freaking titration...one 15 or so who do you see before they die 10 easy ones on basic nursinhg and the rest...welll I want my pizza job back now So 48 hours of hell and no sleep So come yall tell me can you get 75 questions and fail???whats the percentage.. must sleep need sleep sleep i cant sleep
  9. Glad to tell you that I passed the NCLEX-RN. I took it at FEB 28 in Pasadena, CA and had to wait 17days for the letter to came in! Anyway, I am glad, "****" did not happen to me!
  10. Hi NurseFirst, Thanks for your pointing out, yes you are right. However, earle58, do you know paramedics have blood analysis machine equipped? In case of emergency, I believe high O2 will be given to patient with COPD too with the reason depicted by NurseFirst. However, what is the definition of emergency situation? I think paramedics should have protocol of their own. Low-flow O2 is a general principle to take care of COPD patient, which does not count the emergency situation. Any other thoughts to share?!
  11. Dear All, Well, actually, low flow O2 that means less than 3L , usually not more 2L/min is to prevent CO2 narcosis to occur in patient with COPD/COAD. Rationale: In a healthy person, an increase in CO2 will stimulate breathing centre to increase breathing so as to blow off CO2 . However, in a COPD patient, who has an on-going increased CO2 level in blood, the stimulation of breath centre by CO2 does no longer work. Then the body will work on the "hypoxic drive," which is to get stimulated by low O2 in blood. Therefore, patient with COPD if given high O2, the breathing centre will be mistaken that the patient has enough O2 in blood, that ends up to cease breathing...and you end up with a patient needs CPR, that is not a good thing! So, patient teaching is very very very important, especailly to those will use home oxygen! PS: Nicolel1182, Remember, there is no such thing called "stupid question." I am glad you have a right attitude to ask!
  12. LPN, Lucky you! I am in CA...(like Cancer) which is the slowest state to keep the students desparately waiting!
  13. Dear LPN, Though I am very much envy that you can get your result so soon, still I have to say CONGRATS! :Melody: :Melody: :Melody: :balloons: Where did you take your test?
  14. Hi RN29, In my test, I am sure the very first question and the very last question are correctly answered. However, is it a good sign? In between, most of them are priority questions; does it mean I make a lot of mistakes in answering priority questions so that the evil machine keeps asking me such question type? Do you hear of anyone who has similar situation like me, find the first and the last questions easy and sure to have them nailed will have passed the test? Is it a plot or indication that they keep asking you difficult questions in between and give you one easy question at the end to hint you passing the test?! Anyone has any idea on it, please let me know! Care to share your thoughts?
  15. Dear LM I called the board today but turned out the one who answered my call was not so reassuring, just kept repeating "what your social security # is...and I cannot tell you this and that (the result she means, of course I know)...you will recieve your result in 2-4 weeks... Completely cracked me down...>00 Guys...help help poor OS, pray for me...>0
