Nursing school in TN, but moving to FL after grad. Help please!
My nursing department said that it is up to me to figure out how to apply to take my NCLEX and get licensed since I am moving. Can I get licensed in TN and find a job as a new grad in FL or do I need to get licensed in FL? If so, how do I apply to get listened in FL? Our nursing dept takes care of all the paper work if we are getting licensed TN. Moving to Ft Myers/Cape Coral area. Thank you for the help!

How do you take NOTES in class during Nursing Scool?
Get dragon naturally speaking. It converts verbal words to written words. :) My teachers use power points. I go on PDF escape and clear out the lines on the side, and use that space to type. A lot of people in my class used laptops and such

What to do? :(
Nothing is wrong with changing your mind, but I would stick out the semester. Just because I wouldn't want the F on my transcript.. You never know. You may decide to try again one day.

Got Into Nursing School, Now What?
I wouldn't. I bought a few suggested ones, but they weren't worth it. I'd just get the school texts if I were you. :)

Old edition textbooke?
Most of the books they want are brand new.. So there aren't used ones available for some. I have one edition back books.. I would never go further than that. Are the international ones the same? I have heard they are different.

Old edition textbooke?
Renting is still not $4 lol! And renting only saves me $5-10 a book.. =/
-
Old edition textbooke?
I can get the old editions of my books for $4-$8 versus the new ones for $150-200. I need 11 books so I'm stressing out a bit financially.. Would you use the old editions or would you have to have the new editions?

Just accepted into RN program, what to buy before class? Chattanooga State
Thank you so much! That was very helpful!! Can I use the edition prior to the one the college wants me to buy? I got the made easy book also, but I am generally great at math.. These books/problems seem so simple. I hope I am doing them right. Lol! I have taken stats & calc 1&2 so I have a strong background for it lol.

LPN or RN school...serious help. :(
I recently got accepted to chatt state rn program. I don't have an lpn, but from what I understand the transition program is not as competitive. I really love chatt state. I transferred from dalton date, and hated it. I don't have much info on the transition, but if you to to the website they have a lot of information. Utc is a good option, but it is so expensive. I actually live in Dalton & drive to chatt. Dalton has a program for transition also, but Dalton takes way less students so it is extremely competitive. I would honestly do chatt state if I were you, but I know you missed the deadline for fall. The transition is 3 semester. Fall, spring, and summer.

What kind of computer should I buy for school?
I think the answer here is more of opinion than fact. Personally, I have a compaq, iPad, and iPhone. I collaborate on all 3. However, if I could afford a MacBook, I'd definitely have one! As far as your concern with software, there are many programs that allow you to run Mac in windows mode. Not 100% sure that it would work for all software, but I know it works for a lot. Honestly, choosing a computer is more about what you can afford and what it can offer. In my experience, I would never own a dell.. I have had way to many problems with malfunctions and bad Internet connections. Since I currently can't afford a MacBook, I like to stay with HP. Compaq is mad by HP, but they are usually a bit cheaper. Make sure you get a good processor or the computer will be slow and worthless. If your school doesn't require a laptop, the desktop will be fine. A lot of schools are requiring laptops now.. I would check with your school before purchasing. If it is a requirement, they may possibly offer a discount through someone. I know apple has a site where you can get discounts for a lot of their electronics while in school.

2013-2014 HRSA Nursing Scholarship Program
How do you find a facility near you? Also, on the EFC, will this be for the past year or 2013-2014? I have a special circumstance, and my college has yet to process my FASFA..

How many times were you rejected before getting into nursing school?
I applied 2 times at the college I started at.. Rejected both times. The first time was 3 points.. the 2nd time 1/2 a point... I graduated with an associate transfer in nursing to go into a 4 year program at a different school.. I transferred to a new college, and got in the 1st time I applied. I also applied to my old school just for kicks. I also got into it this time. Haha. I picked my new college because I really hated the old one. The professors weren't really concerned or there to help you. No one really cared if you failed or passed. One of my biology professors was actually nicknamed "dr death". Within the first month and a half, 70% of the students either dropped or failed (failing one test in his class, your pretty much just out of luck). The new college is very supportive and provides that positive push that every discouraged student needs. After being rejected twice, it's hard to have the drive to keep moving forward. I always questioned my future career, but in the long run... There's nothing else that even sparks a slight interest. Don't give up if its truly what you want! You will get there!
