I'm sorry to say this but it is highly unlikely that you will pass. It is possible that you could receive a good popup after your exam has been grade for a second time, if determined that questions were graded incorrectly and at which point you remain at or above passing level for the last 60 questions of your exam. Otherwise, your result will remain the same.

People should make sure they know what they are talking about before posting. I graduated from Hostos Dec 2014, passed my boards March 9th and will be enrolled at Cuny School of Professional Studies for the Fall of 2015, so furthering your education is not a problem.

I can tell the review course you took was from Kaplan just by that statement.

I graduate in 4 days. I take my Med-Surge final on Tuesday and Pinning is on Wednesday. I can't wait!!

minlou, don't give up. At my school, one of my professors has students who recently graduated and passed the nclex come back to tell their story. One student said that when he took he nclex predictor, the results said that he only had a 50% chance of passing the nclex. He then buckled down, finished the program and passed the nclex on his FIRST try and that's with the nclex being much more difficult now. I admire that fact that you have not given up and continue to keep that mind set. Use this story as motivation to finish and become the nurse that you know you can be. Good luck.

The NCLEX did indeed get harder. There are much more multiple multiple answer, which is the reason for the decline in pass rate.

I do understand the point that you're trying to make. However, IMO your message can be taken the wrong way. If you never had to pull an all nighter, slept 8 hrs each day etc. then great, neither have I. That does not change the fact that nursing school is difficult. People aren't just trying to scare potential nursing students. When you look at the statistics, it quite clear that people tend to have a much more difficult time in nursing school than in other majors. When you enter nursing school, you have to change your entire way of thinking and that is a huge reason why people fail out. You have to think like a NURSE. Also, a lot of students don't have the luxury of not having to work full time, living with parents etc. Many nursing students have families to take care of. Combine that with all the demands that nursing school can add and it can be a recipe for failure if you are not organized and manage your time wisely. Someone just entering nursing school might read your thread and think that nursing school is just hype and be in for a rude awakening. There are always exceptions to the rule. Some students that can breeze through nursing school but that's not the norm. What's makes nursing school difficult isn't the material. It's the fact that its SO MUCH material to cover in a short period of time. The biggest difference between nursing school and other majors is the fact that if you fail a class in nursing school your DONE, or have a long wait to continue in most cases. Fail a class in another major and you just retake the class as long as your GPA is in good standing. For that reason, I'd gladly put my social life on hold. Anyone who a true friend will understand. If they don't, then they wasn't really a friend to begin with. BTW, reading the entire book from cover to cover isn't generally a good practice. If it worked for you then cool, but I wouldn't encourage that for others to try.

Hi, I was just accepted into Hostos Nursing Program and I can tell you that they really do not focus on your gpa. It just needs to be 3.0 or above. What they do focus on is the ATI score. You need to pass the nln first. You don't even need a great score, just get a 99 (50th percentile). After you take the nln you'll take the ATI and this is where you need to shine. Hostos picks their nursing students based on who gets the highest scores on the ATI. Once they have all the ATI results, the nursing committee will meet and decide who gets in. Base on the scores they will decide a cut off point. Hostos requires applicants to score in the 35th percentile on the ATI. Lets say 40 students take the test and 15 people don't make the 35th percentile, or score in the high 30s and 40s, while the rest score at least 50 and as high as 80 on the ATI. Hostos will decide a cut off point and pick students who scored at the cut off point or higher. In the event that two or more students have identical score, hostos will use the students gpa to determine which student gets in the program until all seats are filled.
