  1. Information / Prep for homecare jobs

Would also love any info about home health. I just accepted a position and have orientation next week!
  2. 75 and done..NCLEX

75 & done, too! Good pop up but still not sure I should be relieved yet! Two more days..... Congratulations, btw. :)
  3. I have heard great things about UW Madison and contacted admissions for information. I was told that the online RN to BSN program is only for residents of Wisconsin (I'm in Illinois).... Looking for a program, too. Any suggestions are welcome! Than...
  4. FINAL SEMESTER!

Start final semester in three and a half weeks. I cannot wait for December! Cannot come soon enough. Good luck and congrats to all... :)
  5. I wish that we did not have summers off. Gives me time to realize how much I hate nursing school. I don't hate the career choice; just the school aspect. One more semester and then on to nclex. Cannot wait!
  6. Phlebotomy Class Worth It?

Absolutely boosts confidence, though, to have the phlebotomy experience. I say go for it! How can extra knowledge and experience hurt? Good luck!
  7. Starting Nursing classes in the Fall...

    1) Cardiology: tests were completely unrelated to the lecture content, in my opinion. Content itself was good. 2) I admit to being a slacker when it comes to studying. I pay attention in class, review the night before for maybe 30 minutes, and that ...
  8. Care plan help. Vomiting

Just because he was NPO does not mean he wouldn't be getting fluids.... Good luck to you. I absolutely hate care plans!
  9. Any "tools" you love?

Hi all! I am in my third semester of a 4 semester ADN program. Just wondering if anybody has any invaluable tools they would recommend? I found a foldable clipboard online but not sure it would fit in the pocket of my scrub top. Anybody use the fol...
  10. Any "tools" you love?

I can certainly see how that's true! The rotations I thought I'd love (OB/peds), I absolutely did not enjoy. Liked med surg but am loving cadiac so far. We'll see.... Still have oncology and neuro & psych to do.... :)
  11. Reconstitution math

Haven't done reconstitution yet, either, but wouldn't it be 500mg/8ml = 62.5mg/ml? Then for 100mg, divide by 62.5mg/ml and get 1.6ml? Did this without a calculator in front of me and without having done it yet in class, but seems reasonable, no? C...
  12. Second Thoughts..???

  13. Any "tools" you love?

Dah doh, how do you like ccu? How long were you in med surg? Which do you like better? I know, off on a tangent... Sorry.
  14. Nursing school not for me?

Hi there! I would estimate that at least 85% of my entire class has at one time or another doubted his or her decision. A friend of mine and I debate returning at the start of each semester! Into semester three of four now, and that hasn't changed...
  15. I am so sorry for you! While I have not been in your position, I can most definitely say your experience is not what it is supposed to be. I would be very candid with the coordinator, and I would make sure to communicate clearly your expectations a...
  16. Class of 2013 stand up:-)

December 13, 2013. I actually like school (second career, so had been out of school for some time before returning). I think I'll miss it (well, not all of it!). Graduation will be here before we know it!
  17. Any "tools" you love?

I, too, have a clipboard in which I can store things. My only issue is that I never quite know where to put it when I go into a patient's room. Thanks so much for all of the great ideas; what a wonderfully supportive "place"! :)
  18. Any "tools" you love?

Stupid question but won't these be available for us? My student status is clearly showing! I so appreciate the tips; please keep them coming! :)
  19. Any "tools" you love?

    Thank you! :)
  20. Whats your favorite montra or saying?

Great thread! Already saw a couple of mine: Is what it is & one day at a time Also, a variation on one already here: I can do anything for 8 weeks, 16 weeks (whatever the time frame is for a particular rotation). Another one: It's not fatal (yet...
  21. Any "tools" you love?

    Thanks! :)
  22. Must Have Nursing Books

I love the ridiculously easy series. I don't rely on them for the bulk of my learning, but they augment the information from the texts in a great way. Definitely recommend. Good luck!
  23. Any "tools" you love?

  24. Any "tools" you love?

No opinions on the foldable clipboard....? What about EKG calipers? I've been reading some reviews, and the reviews seem to revolve around the plastic cover staying on. Thoughts? Thanks in advance! I hate to spend the money and realize I've bou...
  25. Feel like I don't know a thing...

Pathophysiology Made Ridiculously Simple is a great book, btw. Might help boost the confidence a bit. Good luck! :)
