  1. Is that for an ICU NG?
  2. Thank you so much for that information!
  3. Awesome. Thank you so much for the information!
  4. HeartNursing3, is that starting wage pretty current? I am interested in hearing more about the Clinic.
  5. RNinCLE, do you mind sharing if the pay is competitive? Particularly new grad starting pay? I'm seriously considering employment at this organization.
  6. Thanks for the info! I'm looking to wait it out until June to apply when I have my license!
  7. I'm currently in the same situation. Did you take the job? If so, how do you like it?!
  8. Have you graduated already and obtained your Ohio license? I heard they don't hire unless you have your license. If that's not true, then I'll be glad I don't have to wait until June to apply (I graduate in May).
  9. Sounds like you're an awesome preceptor. I will be in the CICU for my practicum...hope I have a preceptor like you!
  10. Intro to Professional Nursing
  11. In my opinion failing a check off and not being able to redo it is not very effective. I question why your program thinks this is the best way to do things. My advice would be to accept the failure and practice in the lab so it doesn't happen again. Maybe work on time management since you mentioned you ran out of time. Faculty should be willing to help you. Keep in mind you pay their salary!
  12. Yes, after my freshman year of college I had a 2.6 cumulative GPA. My advisor told me I'd never make it and could barely declare I was a nursing major. That was just what I needed to light a fire under my bottom. I've made almost all As since then and I'm graduating with a 3.5.
  13. When do we find out? Did they say anything?
  14. I haven't even interviewed yet!
  15. Does anyone have further information about GUH?
  16. I have not, but I really want to research further before I accept!
  17. Unfortunately I don't live in NYC, but I do have experience as a CNA II as well as having a critical care nurse externship over the summer. I guessI just have to figure out how to navigate the application process. Any ideas?
  18. I graduate in May. Is there anything I can now to attempt to gain a new grad residency position?
  19. Pre nursing: 3.3 Post nursing: 3.5 I was of the very few in my class who's GPA went up in nursing school.
  20. I will add that I was also in a BSN program.
  21. Anything is possible if your heart is in it. I was a full time athlete and I worked a job on campus while I was a full time nursing student. You just need to make sure your employer or other commitments are willing to be flexible when nursing school demands pile up...and they will. There will be days you need to take a mental health day!
