2017 RN to BSN Online Program UTA Current/past students
Hi everyone! I am looking into UTA for this fall 2017. I work full time in an ICU in Georgia and am interested how classes are set up. I read some posts in this thread about the papers, discussion posts, and class work. Are most nursing classes set up the same way? Discussion posts and weekly assignments due on two different dates during the week? I work full time weekends (thurs-sat) every week and want to make sure I set myself up for success. I would plan on taking just one class at a time unless y'all think that two is doable at once! Any insight on this?

NICU with no experience
Thanks for sharing and I'm so glad I came across this thread! Does your hospital hire ASN? The NICU job posted now says ADN required and BSN preferred - just wondered if they actually considered ASNs. I was hired into a nicu but it since I didn't pass the boards I could not fully except the job, but I'm about to take them again! Thanks.

NICU New Grad Programs
I just spoke with a nurse recruiter and I will be applying for RN jobs - she said the graduate event is for spring grads and I graduated in Decemeber. NICU or peds are the areas I really desire to be in. From your experience it sounds like many are hired because they did their externship/preceptorship in NICU, but do any get hired into NICU/Peds without having that background? My school didn't allow us to go into NICU/Peds for our preceptorship í ½í¸• Thank you for all of your input!!

NICU New Grad Programs
Thank you! I'm going to look at the details and apply! So the Kosair NICU will hire new grads? I have a BS in another field and my ASN obviously in nursing. Do they consider ASN candidates?

Lindsey Koi Pants
Don't know about the Koi Morgans but I LOVE the Lindsay Kois!! I am 5'3 150 (nursing school LB's ) and bought the medium. I have some thighs but a J. Lo butt. I originally got the size small when I first started nursing school around 135 lbs. Both are cute! You could order both styles or sizes from amazon and return with their free returns :)

Keiser spring 2014 nursing student
Keiser Sarasota does have a great reputation at the local hospitals for excellent students who are hands on, quick/critical thinkers, and really want to learn. They are preferred over the other local schools (USF, SCF, Galen, etc - this is not my opinion but literally what I have been told by countless nurses in the hospitals). Hospitals you go to are: SMH, MMH, Doctors, and All Childrens. For preceptorships in your last semester (yes we still have them as some schools do not) you could go to any of the previous listed as well as Blake, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, and the hospital in Arcadia. Personally, I do not care for the school as a whole. It was very disorganized along the way. I did however love most of the instructors. Based on my options for school this was the best choice for me. That's how you have to look at it. I was able to move home for a while with little bills and have my parents help me with food and other various things. Yes the school is pricey but if you don't want to wait to get into a program and don't mind going through 4 straight semesters then it is a very good option. Also know that if you are employed at any of the hopsital's I mentioned you will receive a 25% school affiliation "scholarship" aka discount. Take advantage because it is well worth it. I was a student nurse at one of these hospitals working PRN (2-4 times per month) and got the discount. Not only are you getting paid to work, you get the discount, and it helps you tremendously with school and landing a job :) I think having that job was a HUGE factor in me landing the job I was offered (specialty RN residency position). I feel like our ATI tests have helped a lot in preparation for NCLEX. I take my boards in a few weeks so we'll see! Good luck :)

Did you hear anything?

Gwinnett medical new grad residency
I have read only what's on allnurses about Eastside and I messaged a few people individually about working there. I have not heard anything negative about the facility! My only con is going to be my commute there from Brookhaven/North Druid Hills. But I will use the time to catch up on phone calls or listen to music/podcasts/messages! The people at Eastside are very friendly and I know they are going to be great teacher and resources. It is a Versent RN Residency program and the curriculum started out of an LA children's hospital. It really is an excellent opportunity that I was happy and privileged to be offered. What did you hear from GMC? They called me a few days after Eastside asking for an interview with the NICU lol.

Memorial University Medical Center Savannah
Is Memorial's pay competitive for RN's and new RN grads? Just curious if they pay a little more since they have a 4 year contract. Thanks!

CHOA nurse residency December grads
Hey! I applied as well. I had been checking on their website to see when the application went up and I applied Oct 1st. (I kept clicking on "new grad" postions from the webiste and it didnt lead me to the job req. I had to just search it in taleo...bummed because it went up sept 25 so I hope I'm still ok applying a few days after it opened). As of October 5, my status changed to "application under review" so we will see what happens! I would love to know if yall are applying with a BSN or ASN. I will have my ASN in December but also have a BS in business management and have been working as a student nurse for 7 months on a traum/neuro/ortho step-down floor. Is anyone familiar with their interview process?
