  1. Both programs join. ..generic and lpn in your second semester. The only difference between the two is you are required less clinical hours as a lpn. The lpns have less clinical hours to do in some of the classes, and don't do process 1+2. They have one class that combines those classes. After the first semester they are pretty much the same.
  2. I didn't go to north, but north has a higher pass rate. ..I had a great experience. ..teacher are tough but when you are done you will be prepared and you will see it on the floor. Many of the nurses you will work with are Broward grads! Don't listen to the horror stories. If you put in the work, you will be fine.
  3. I don't believe they are as strict at central so you should be fine. I would check last semesters posts.
  4. Yes. ..that's for north. Not south! South you must buy the ones in the bookstore. I think some people had nurse mates, I had dansko. Just all white is fine. I bought the cuff on amazon really cheap. ...and the stethoscope online. It had free engraving and you can find online coupons. I think maybe as allheart? I don't remember
  5. Why not do your prerequisites and go to an accredited school? Maybe a community college? Less money and you'll be sure you can sit for your boards. You can do it with kids and I haven't heard of wait lists around here. But only you can decide
  6. I graduated this month. ...no retracking....you can do it and even people who retracked graduated. It's hard work but you will be well prepared when you are done. (And ready to pass the nclex) so don't listen to negative talk. Study harder then you ever have. It will be worth it. No one is there to hold your hand. ...you need to just read and reread to master the material.
  7. You probably can't buy it until right before your orientation. That's probably an old one.
  8. Does carter smith show up on your d2l? She had it in her class under content. If you dont have that maybe someone can just email you that HW file so you can print it. At least that way you have something to work with.
  9. All your hw should be listed under the class syllabus not by lab instructor. They all have the same assignments but they should be listed under the class in d2l. (Not by lab.) Isn't it listed in his welcome letter for the class or the syllabus? You'll love her
  10. :) glad you found it
  11. You need all white shoes. If you don't like those go the a nursing store. ..they have lots to try on. You wear them to class and clinicals. Just make sure you are comfy. You are not allowed to wear any different shoes. The jacket is in the bookstore. It has cuffs on the sleeves. You can also wear the Polo on class days. ..never to clinicals. Pants have to be from the bookstore. They look for tags.
  12. I did it because of cost and driving time. I would have loved to be at UM. But I've received a very good education at BC. It will just take slightly longer at BC but my job can help pay the bsn or msn now.
  13. I know a few people that have those and they lasted a while.
  14. Cox is used the whole program, and jarvis is at least the whole first semester. Med surg can be used for your care plan from process 1 and it's for gigu and ortho so you need that a long while too. I have the 8th which isn't that expensive now. Maybe try that book.
  15. No they don't need proof. ..that's why they do titers. If you are immune that's all you put with the copy of titer, otherwise, if not you put the date of vaccine plus the copy of titer.
  16. That means you've gotten it or been exposed. ...and you just don't remember. Maybe it was a very mild case. You don't need the vaccine if you have the antibodies.
  17. I think the work is doable is just fitting the class into your schedule with clinicals .
  18. I'm sure it's about the same. Mine is 3rd. You just do review questions from that book. ..so in class you can always look at your neighbors book if you need the exact numbers.
  19. I bought most on amazon used really cheap. The dose book is like 5.99 on amazon now so it's worth buying at that price. I wouldn't buy that for full price. ..too expensive. It's helpful but you use it for 4 weeks. The potter book is useful to have so you can write in it and you need the matching clinical book almost everyday. ..I wouldn't buy the strategies book, you don't need all those extra books. Just wait and see and buy them as you need them. I like the Davis questions ..those helped me a lot. Jarvis and drug book-you're going to want to buy. You must have those. And there is an orange book that is lab tests that you need the most current edition. But don't overlook used. You can get some of these books for $5-6 and many don't have highlighting. And prime has free 2 day shipping! But...if you need to rent them, then rent them. I heard of others renting and they did fine. I like writing in my books do I don't rent but it's fine. They also have all the books in the library to use. You can't remove them but you can sit there and study.
  20. Yes. I'm at South. :)
  21. Mine shows an amount. It's there and paid my fees. ..but they don't send it to you left over money till later. Does yours even show up?
  22. Many people love the Littman stethoscope. People have all kinds of rolling back packs and regular back packs, any pen lights, any cheap blood pressure cuff, bandage scissors and black pens. I think that's the basics
  23. They do. ..sometimes the codes they email are not the same that come up in that search for courses.
  24. You must get the titers. It's required.
  25. I haven't seen resentment, hostility. ..it's not worth giving up or blaming the school. It's simply due to 2 missed problems. ..pick your self up and try again. That's all I said :)
