Some schools are 16 week vs 8 wk semester, this gives you more time to do the assignments. But the 16 week semester (part-time) are 2-3 classes vs 1 class in the 8 wk semester. I did Chamberlain for 1 semester, then switched to U of Cincinnati (part-...

anne_marie_oregon I'm on the brink of switching too (from FNP to AGPC), wasn't keen on peds, the additional hours...my current professors (both adult NPs) said majority of patients are >13, most internal med sub-specialties are adult patients. Plu...

Inquiring about the UCCS (Colorado Springs, CO) FNP program. Would like to find out any additional details (good to know) about the program other than what is posted on the school's web-page. Program advisor just basically emailed & re-stated sim...
THanks! Is MGA just a pediatric home-health, postings only show Ped's positions for RNs? Of these, Health South,MGA, interim, & maxim, how would you rank them as quality supportive work environments (per your opinion or knowledge from peers)?
I'm curious, what Home Health agency/company did you work for prior to penrose/St. francis? Which agency/company or hospitals do you recommend for this as a "new grad" in CO Springs?
Great INfo! Thanks a million; I've researched the rehab facility & the govt.contractors. Unfortunately I've been on the "not selected" status too many times as well & have grown a thick hide. I believe I lost count Centura looks promising; ...

lauraross1; I'm researching UCCS FNP for Fall enrollment, is there a site on allnurses for UCCS? I'd like to hear/read from current student about the program. Thanks!
I checked yesterday,14 Nov, & 18 states still not approving the FNP program. However, it used to be 21 at least 2 months ago. States are slowly approving the program. Best to call the NC state BON to see where they are in the approval process.
some state BONs have to approve the program since its new & there is no official national standard for online FNP programs; ive bugged the online advisors & they have know idea, except that youd have to call your state BON to see why/why not ...

purplemaster: so you would highly recommend the GMU RN refresher? I compared the NOVA CC course & the GMU, the cost is drastic at NOVA ($2400!) but after speaking w/the GMU instructor i'm leaning towards GMU. You have any other advice on this cou...
