Nurse Informatics clinical
Hello. I'm currently a MSN - Informatics student at Chamberlain College/University. I am in need of trying to find a clinical site/mentor for my practicum. I am trying to do Orlando Health since I work as a nurse there and they are affiliated with Chamberlain. Anyone have any recommendations for practicum? My clinical coordinator at Chamberlian has not responded to me and I have emailed twice already. Much appreciated.

Exam Motivation
I felt the same when I failed back in October 2014 and finally passed January 2015. I felt lost and didn't know where to go. Holidays were coming up and I lacked motivation. I ended up doing Kaplan class to get motivation and direct me the right way , as in figuring out what I was doing wrong. I felt like I didn't know how to answer NCLEX questions. You have to find what went wrong to fix it to boost your confidence up. At least, that's what I did.

PVT: Question of Character?
I feel the same way when some people throw their cig butts out of their car window thinking Earth is their personal ash tray. I feel that it's wrong but others do not. Just sayin'

PVT: Question of Character?
I feel that this thread was created just to fire people up on a sensitive topic like are you pro-life or pro-choice type of topic.

Nclex 2nd attempt
For me, I felt that I couldn't tackle the questions so I picked the Kaplan anywhere class and did that online. I feel that it helped me understand how to answer the questions better. Don't get me wrong though, I still left the testing center feeling like "*** was that". I did feel better than my first attempt. I passed. From what I have seen, take the Kaplan class if you need help with questions. Take the hurst if it's content focus you need. Also, keep keep saying ncsbn and Kaplan are close to nclex type questions. After I failed, I took a month or two off (mainly because of the holidays came around). After that, I took Kaplan and did 150 questions a day and read the rationales. I kept doing that until the day before the exam. Good luck

NCLEX - on the verge of signing up for a Kaplan preparatory course
I would recommend KAPLAN if you want to get a better understanding on how to tackle questions.

Second Attempt
Congrats! I believe I took 2 breaks during the 3hrs I was there. After I took Kaplan, my exam shut off after 149 (2nd attempt). I used 3 white boards and I passed. Good luck

florida hospital or orlando health for new grad pay
I'm not really sure that Orlando Health is actively doing their residency program but I just got hired there. I know Florida hospital is active with theirs.

Are you speaking about a residency program?

New grad and moving?
Yeah, you just pick the state that you want. You can also take the exam anywhere nationwide. For example, I took my NCLEX in Iowa but picked FL as my state. Good luck :)

For those who passed NCLEX
I felt my chest pounding after the screen changed to the survey about Pearson. I thought I was going to go all the way to 265 again. At first, I felt like I did better than last time but after awhile, I started worrying. I did the PVT and received the good pop up but I was still worried until I received the PASS.

New grad and moving?
In my situation, I went to school in IL and applied for the state of FL as my designated state. Apparently, some units overlooked my resume because I had an out of state address. I was lucky to have 2 units call and ask when I would get to FL. After I arrived to FL and changed my address, a couple of floors have called for interviews. You can pick your designation but it might be difficult to find a job if you are not local. Also, with no support could make things stressful on you as well. I wish you luck. Why do you want to leave FL?

Stethoscope?
If you plan on going into an RN program, it would be a good idea to have a stethoscope. I kept mine when I did Emt and then went into RN. Mine was $100 (Lithmann Classic II breast cancer awareness edition). It's great!

NCLEX HELP
During my last summer semester before I graduated, we took it twice. I believe that I received a score in the 70ish% of passing NCLEX. The second time, I received a 91% on the comp predictor. My 3rd attempt, I took the virtual comp predictor, I received a 96%. I feel that their assessments were easier than their comp predictor. You just have to keep trying. I wish you luck
