  1. I would listen to the lawyer, before I would listen to the advisor. Students change form H-4 to F-1 all of the time. And in the US. Hi, I've been reading a lot of posts and I need to ask you some things, this is my case: I'm under an H-4 visa, my husband's employer is doing the petition for the family and are actually doing all the paperwork. For what I heard, with the Term process it should take about 8 to 12 months to get the greencard. I just got into a ADN and during the paperwork meeting they asked us to filed some kind of working paper because they have a government grant. The lady in charge was kind of worried that I do not have a work permit. I told her that I do not have it yet but by the time I finish the program I will have the greencard. I know that I can study with my visa and I'm actually classify as a resident. I know the people in the nursing deparment do not have any idea on how things work. I think I'm the only case they ever had. DO you think there is going to be a problem? I just felt as if I was doing something wrong, and I'm not, I gave them a copy of every document I have. They say it is Ok, but I'm still worried. I just want your oppinion. Thanks in advance. V.
  2. I'm on the same boat!!! Two kids (3-6). I don't know yet how am I going to pay for school and daycare. I just got my letter last week and the paperwork session is on Tuesday......Lol I'm very, very happy and nervous at the same time. Great feeling!!! WE are inn!!!!!!!! Everything else is going to be ok. Remember: "God provides!!!" Good luck.
  3. Congrats!!!! Men are so needed in the field. You don't have to feel bad for not being nervous, well, I'm not nervous too, but exited. Enjoy it!!!
  4. Mel thanks' a lot !!! Very usefull information. I just found out that I'm in for Spring '08 at saddleback too and I have to take the TEAS next week. I'm so worried. I wanted to ask you if it is enough to study, just from the study guide and how hard is the science section. Thank you again and meet you soon, we are going to be class mates!!!!
  5. I'm INNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still can't believe it!!! I got a call yesterday, first they told me I was an alternate and after ten minutes, they call me back and told me I was invited officially. I'm soo happy!! I waited for allmost two years and I finally made it. Now I have to take the TEAS I'm so worried; I have just one week to study!!! For those of you who are still waiting or got rejected, keep the faith and keep applying. Eventually you are going to be accepted!!!! :balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons:!!!!Faith moves mountains!!!!!
  6. Congratulations!!!!! You really inspired me!!! I've been rejected several times and I'm supposed to get "the letter" in two weeks or so and still taking one class, not very motivated until I read your post. Good for you!!! You are going to be a great nurse!! and thak you for your motivation!!! B:roll
  7. I didn't get in too . Hope we have more luck next time. Congratulations for the ones that got in and good luck in the program.
  8. Try Commit!!! are like menthol candies. I've been using them. (Quiting too) and they are great, but you have to follow the directions. If you take less than the manual said then you crave a lot for a smoke but they make dissapear the nerve effects, the cravings and the bad mood, also the insomnia is not present. Take a day at a time. "Just for today" And whenever you crave look at your kids. Avoid any social place that you relate with smoking and avoid any smoking friend at all at least for a while or ask them not to smoke with you present. Good luck !! It is a terrible adiction and habit but we can do it!!!!! PM whenever you want, I'm in the same boat.
  9. I think it deppends on your personal situation. I have a BS in Psychology and thought about the same thing but considering I have two small kids the Assoc. works for me better now. Even though I want to get my BSN and a masters I'm not in a rush. I want to be with my kids as long as I can and also the money is an issue right now. Think about your sittuation. You can also get your BS and furhter preparation. It's a matter of what works better for you right now.
  10. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!Enjoy the moment and good luck in the program!!!!
  11. I love this website!!!! I didn't take the coment as rude. I really hate when someone ask me why not med school. I have heard the same question millions of times. I had a BS in Psychology and I too knew what I really wanted too late. Married with two kids I was thinking of going to med school. I almost The day I realized I wanted to be a nurse is when I was pregnant with my second kid. The doctors where in a hurry all the time. They didn't talk to me more than five minutes; very distant allmost like machines. I also did some volunteer work at an ER for two months and I realize that what I really wanted to do was to be nurse. They have human and personal contact with the patient. I respect a lot MD field but for me a Nurse its the one that makes the difference. At least in my experience and I realized that my psychology degree was going to be a great plus. I'm still waiting my letter but I wouldn't choose the other way. I do feel that the Nurse profession is not valorated enough but who cares!!! we know it and that's what counts.
  12. Congratulations!!! 5% and you are innnn !!! That is great. I'm very happy for you. I'm still waiting for my letter and I am starting to think about plan B. Your case gave me more hope. Good luck!!! keep me in you'r prayers!!!
  13. Brightmoon they didn't send you that letter in you'r previous applications? That one, talking about child care and finantial aid made me think the same thing. But who knows. For what I know we all got the same letters. Lets hope the four of us in this thread get in soon, Fall 07. Let us know when you know something, I will do the same. Good luck. V.
  14. Thank you thats good to know. Then I will stop checking the mail like crazy :) until Memorial day. Good luck to both of you!!! I hope we all get in.
  15. Hi. I just want to know who else is waiting for GW. It is my last chance for '07 since I already got rejected from 2 other schools. I'm so stressed, just wanted to ventilate. Good luck to all!!!
  16. Congrats spriess!!!!! You are sooooo innnnn!!!! I'm still waiting and I think doing it every semester is going to drive me craizy. I have waited a year now. At this point I just want to know.
  17. Christina just go for it. You are almost there. Do what your hart is telling you. Besides, you can always go for the other degree. Just think what you are going to regret the most. If you are in, and is hard to be accepted, take the chance. I always think that things happend for a reason. Nothing is casuality. If you were selected it has to be for some reason. Think with your hart too, nt only your head, if you feel the call then it is, our instinct or six sense always tells the truth. good luck. V.
  18. Waiting for GWCC in Claifornia.....Good luck everyone!!!!
  19. First of all a big big CONGRATULATIONS!!!! the nightmare is over for you. I can imagine how are you feeling. WHo got a grant? GW or SANTA ANA?
  20. I got my letter yesterday and was rejected for the second time too. i know how are you feeling. Is hard but we just have to reapply. We have to get in eventually. My best wishes.
  21. I am waiting too!!!! I was patient until today. I was supposed to get my letter last week!!!! I called today to the school and they are going to send the letters until next week !!! I'm out of patience lol I have to wait ...... Good luck I'll have you in my prayers.
  22. Oh!!!! I can't believe that!!! Well take the good side of it. You will have more time to study and next time you'll be less anxious about it. I have to take it in three months. Did you use the study manual? Is it good? Well , good luck and keep us posted to see what happend.
  23. Hi, I found out that if I'm accepted at the ADN program I applied I will have to take the TEAS. Do you have any idea on how hard is it? Is it a very specific test? Any help will be apreciated. I will know about the program at the end of April and I don't know whether to start studing for the Teas Test or wait until I know for sure. If you don't get enough points they give you one year to take remedials before acceptance and I'm not sure if one month will be enough to study for the test or I just start now. Thank's V.
  24. Hi!!! This is the second time that I applied too!!! And also the letters are going to be sent at the end of April - May. I have all the pre-reqs and GE courses too besides two courses for the BSN. If I don't get in, again, which I hope is not the case. I will take the final two clases for the BSn but I really really want to get in for Fall. Even though I have a 3.8 GPA I have one terrible B!!!!! and that puts me in disadvantage with the straight A's students but I hope that having all the core classes and GE give me some chance. Good luck and you are not alone in this bitting nails, chasing the mailman prosses. When I got my denial letter last time I felt bad but at the same time I was so relieve that the waiting nightmare was over. Now I'm in that terrible waiting ride again and is worst than to know you're not in. Keep the faith!!!! and let us know if you get in.
  25. A lot of us arround here are in the same situation. I applied last semester traying to get in spring 07 and all my friends and family said exactly the same thing and I was so sure I was going to get in , lol I couldn't think of anything else. Well it happens that I didn't get in and I was so disapointed. But, you know what, is not the end of the world, I just applied to two programas and while I hear some news (until May) I'm spending as much time as I can with my kids and hope for the best. That doesn't mean I don't think about it but sooner or later we are going to get IN. If you don't, take the good side of it and enjoy one more semester good luck and Just keep the faith!!!!!!
