  6. Hi, Well I was 28 when I started nursing as a LPN I went back to school when I was 45 for my diploma RN I am now 66, and guess what I'm doing? Going back to school for BSN! It will probably take me until I'm 70, but I don't care! I love to learn & grow in knowledge! It keeps your mind strong & productive And you never know when you may need to use your skills! In fact, I'm planning to use my education as a Faith Community Nurse! Happy trails everyone!

  10. I see that to be a Parish/Faith Community Nurse you must have a BSN to take the course through the university's and through Parishnursing.org site! If the new standards and roles say this, how can I ( Diploma RN ) become a Parish Nurse? Thank you for your answer
  11. Thank you Starintn for your information. By chance, do you know of anywhere in Columbia that would allow me to work on a volunteer basis, to gain some confidence & experience, as I have been out of nursing several years & would like to work again in this capacity. 12. Awesome Wrench Party! How did you get into this job? I'd love to find something like this too. Not many places would allow you to do hands on nursing. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  13. Would an RN with past experience in the hospital setting, be able to volunteer or maybe have a preceptor for a future job? Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  14. Has anyone heard about hospitals refusing to hire RN's that have returned to hospital nursing following more than a years absence? Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
  15. Aflower1325 What would you recommend taking ICD-9 & ICD10 together? Hospital Coding? I am an RN, but interested in doing Coding. Not sure which way to go at it! Do you take AACP courses or AHIMA courses? What did you do? Would you take auditing also? Is it all necessary to have the complete package for employment. Would like to work from home, my husband is ill. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
