  1. I agree that a community college is your best bet. As far as financial aid goes, my CC would only help if you were seeking a degree, regardless of the number of credit hours. Since I already had a degree and was only taking pre-requisites I got nothing. Maybe things will work out better at your CC.
  2. Focus on prefixes, roots, and suffixes. Then make your flash cards and practice, practice, practice.
  3. I think I would have to say something to the instructor outside of class. These are people competing for a spot in the nursing program. Imagine how you would feel if one of the cheaters got a spot and you didn't! I would like to think that cheaters will weed themselves out, but I wouldn't bet on it.
  4. Hooray!!!! Just got my invitation to interview for my program. I'm on my way!!!!

Khanacademy.com and http://www.gwc.maricopa.edu/home_pages/crimando/jcHumanBiodyssey.htm My instructor used the Maricopa site pretty frequently.
  6. Khanacademy.com was a lifesaver for tropomyosin, actin, and all that. Also check youtube for some great demonstrative videos. You might have to weed through, but it really helps you with more difficult concepts.
  7. I took A&P 1, micro, stats, and lifespan last spring. Then A&P 2, nutrition, and govt in the summer. You can do anything you set your mind to!!!
  8. I just start counting down the weeks and think about how I won't have to deal with it again once I finish. Oh, and how if I took the W I would have to go through the agony all over again. You are halfway there! Get er done!!!!!
  9. Sorry to say, but it really doesn't matter what anyone on this forum thinks about your chances. Every school has different admission standards and your chances are totally in their hands. Your GPA is fine, but if you don't feel comfortable with your TEAS results you should retake it. Look around for other places to take it to save money. The price on the ATI site was $100, but I went to a technical school and they only charged $40.
  10. Age should not be on a job application. It isn't legal.
  11. I agree that an advisor would be your best source of information. That being said, I can share my experience. My pre-reqs must be finished by the start of the BSN program. Yes, acceptance is conditional on completion. At least 2 of the 4 sciences must be complete by the application deadline. Your chances of acceptance depend on the school you want to attend. My best advice is to get the best grades you can, keep building your volunteer resume, and take a breath. Nursing school is going to be tough; don't burn out before you get there!
  12. BTW, what schools are you applying to? Did you use the calculator after all?
  13. Definitely take a look at your body mechanics!
  14. Wow. Really? A temper tantrum? C'mon. It seems that people are willing to help if they are given some information. How can you expect answers when you have not asked a question??? You can't reasonably expect someone to dive into your mind and figure out what you need.
