  1. I am almost positive that information literacy has to be taken via Excelsior for all their degree programs now. The rest can (probably, check with them) be taken anywhere. I transferred in my A&P but for a general studies degree completion, so your mileage may vary. You can call them and get an adviser during the day.
  2. I think it's fine to take summer classes. I took an A&P class last semester as an 8 week class and while it was pretty intense, it knocked it out quickly and in some ways I think it was better because I was able to really focus on it and learned a lot.
  3. Yes, flash cards! I stopped making them towards the end of A&P 1 because I wasn't sure how much they were helping, and my grade dropped. And ask your teacher what information will be covered on the test. Some will let you know which parts to concentrate on. Good luck!
  4. You are smart enough! I hope you have a great semester!
  5. The other thing to consider, if you're wanting to go further in your education, is that many master's programs will accept you if you have an ADN + BA/BS- so you might be able to go straight from ADN to master's level coursework with no stop for finishing the BSN. That's only helpful if you were looking past the BSN, but it's something to think about.
  6. I took Bio 141 online as an 8 week class. It went really well, they give you all the materials you need to succeed. I was signed up for Bio 142, but dropped it last minute since we had to list our house for sale and I knew I wouldn't have time to dedicate to it. It shouldn't really matter which teacher you use, the class and tests are the same across the board.
  7. Yes, bail. A D will look worse than a W. People withdraw for all sorts of reasons, it doesn't have to be because you're not doing well.
  8. I do great on the labeling, but have a harder time with physiology.
  9. Diploma programs give you more clinical hours, and there are hybrid programs where you can do didactic learning online, and clinicals in person.
  10. Run away from him. I don't have to know you to know you're worth better treatment. Little newsflash for him- child support isn't optional.
  11. I've talked to lots of admissions people, and the general consensus is that new grades matter much more than old ones. The schools that look at your older GPA almost exclusively seem to be public, so I suggest looking into private universities. There are also quite a few that only take into consideration your pre-req GPA, so that should only help you. I'd apply as broadly as you can to give yourself a chance to get into a program. What was the GPA you actually graduated with when you finished your bachelors? I have a hard time imagining it was a 1.8 when you were done.
  12. Apply at Chamberlain, they don't require any pre-reqs.
  13. Being in charge really isn't that fun, and it certainly won't help your social life. Any position (I'm not a nurse yet) where you are in charge of your coworkers is tough. I never liked being management, because I really don't care about who stole whose lunch out of the fridge. You're right, it's not worth $1.25 an hour! Some people love it, but I know it's not for me. Maybe it's not for you either?
  14. I'm going to the be dissenter and say that while I haven't taken physio yet, I really really like taking 8 week classes. It's condensed, but if you only take 1-2 classes at a time, you're able to really focus on learning those things and not worry about all your other classes. And I like feeling like I accomplished something faster and can check it off my list. 8 week classes are intense, but I love them!
  15. It does get harder. Partially because things get more complicated, but also because you start having to rely on the previously learned information. And if you didn't learn it well the first time, it's really tough. It's totally doable though! Good luck! You can do it!
