  2. Yes.. Admission is VERY competitive and alot of it is based on gpa. My overall gpa was a 3.95 when I applied with my "nursing" gpa being 3.8 on the application. All I can say to you is that you should meet with a nursing advisor and talk with her.. Also try your best to do awesome in finite and anatomy. They really look at the critical thinking classes.
  3. Overwhelming!!! So much to do!! But I just need to remember how much it will be worth it after!
  4. IUstudent replied to JonB04's topic in General Students
3.9 uni.; had to have close to 4.0 to even be considered
  5. i know i have been debating if i should start my calendar !
  6. If you do chegg just rent... Do not buy, not good experiences
  7. I checked on my school website and all my syllabi are up!! Along with schedules, readings, and assignment info. I start the 29th and I am soo excited. I know I am going to have to work extra hard but it's easier to be excited about school when it's really something that you want to do! However I am not as excited about the assignments; writing and group projects, definitely not my favorite or my strong point (writing). I'll just have to find a way to cope! Good luck to all my fellow nursing students!
  8. You should of done amazon prime student subscription that is free for a year and you get it in 2 days.... i ended up buy basically all mine new because alot came with cds and stuff that would be very helpful.. and if any thing you can get more when you sell back if you keep in good condition

  13. AAHHH my favorite thing to do :) i have been racking up stuff all summer for the fall semester & i"m soooo excited!
  14. You definitely need to get your grades up in the core sciences.. they are mostly the classes that are looked at, especially if the program is very competitive. For my BSN program you basically had to have a 4.0
  15. yeah you should have no trouble!!
  16. thank you so much ! i will definitely add that to my list of books to get. do you think the addition of the book matters? should i get the newest edition?
  17. CONGRATS!! cant wait until im in your position
  18. Thank you soooo much for all the recommendations! I have been looking into NCLEX books but haven't bought any yet. I dont know how helpful they will be this semester will basically just theory style classes (BSN program). I read alot among the posts that people have found the davis book to be very helpful so I ordered that. My mother was like if the professor mentioned it then get it! You can't be prepared enough, but I wouldn't want to just waste money on something that I will hardly use/ find helpful when it could go towards something else!
  19. I am sad to admit that this rule kinda makes me sad..... i love having pretty nails but not more than I want to be a nurse!!!!!... I guess I'll just get used to no polish manicures!
  20. You made it this far! Just breathe and take this semester just like any other, one step at a time.:) I am just starting my journey and am scared to death!
  21. First question.. we are required to get a drug referenced book: davis's drug guides for nurses or mosby's nursing drug reference? Which is the better? Then my professor mentioned some optional books that could be beneficial... have any of you used these and were they helpful? or should I not spend the money ? Student laboratory manual for Mosby's guide to physical examination. (6th ed. * Medical, Nursing & Allied Health Dictionary. Any advice would be very helpful, thank you!!:)
  22. 8/29 for me and i am soooo excited! i have been on all nurses 24/7 just to hold me over until then haha :)
