iu bloomington out there?
Yes.. Admission is VERY competitive and alot of it is based on gpa. My overall gpa was a 3.95 when I applied with my "nursing" gpa being 3.8 on the application. All I can say to you is that you should meet with a nursing advisor and talk with her.. Also try your best to do awesome in finite and anatomy. They really look at the critical thinking classes.

Yay got my syllabi
I checked on my school website and all my syllabi are up!! Along with schedules, readings, and assignment info. I start the 29th and I am soo excited. I know I am going to have to work extra hard but it's easier to be excited about school when it's really something that you want to do! However I am not as excited about the assignments; writing and group projects, definitely not my favorite or my strong point (writing). I'll just have to find a way to cope! Good luck to all my fellow nursing students!

Need help for nursing school
You definitely need to get your grades up in the core sciences.. they are mostly the classes that are looked at, especially if the program is very competitive. For my BSN program you basically had to have a 4.0

optional books the professor recommended, are they worth it?
Thank you soooo much for all the recommendations! I have been looking into NCLEX books but haven't bought any yet. I dont know how helpful they will be this semester will basically just theory style classes (BSN program). I read alot among the posts that people have found the davis book to be very helpful so I ordered that. My mother was like if the professor mentioned it then get it! You can't be prepared enough, but I wouldn't want to just waste money on something that I will hardly use/ find helpful when it could go towards something else!

we cannot have acrylic fingernails

optional books the professor recommended, are they worth it?
First question.. we are required to get a drug referenced book: davis's drug guides for nurses or mosby's nursing drug reference? Which is the better? Then my professor mentioned some optional books that could be beneficial... have any of you used these and were they helpful? or should I not spend the money ? Student laboratory manual for Mosby's guide to physical examination. (6th ed. * Medical, Nursing & Allied Health Dictionary. Any advice would be very helpful, thank you!!:)
