  1. hi dwag, I know what you mean, because I'm going through the same situation, Like you say there are very nice experienced nurses out there who are willing and dont mind helping out us who are new and learning, but...there are those couple here and there whom i guess just dont remember how it feels being new. I'm somewhat discouraged about my job because of that, but if I leave I'll probably end up bumping into others who act like that. I'm wondering if I should start looking elsewhere or just stick to it. It just seems that this one nurse who I have to work with gets bothered when asked a question and expects me to do everything "speedy" like her who's been nursing for decades. How am I suppose to learn and get confident when she's so inconsiderate, aside from that I dont want to run around "complaining" about her because it will just probably make me look like a winer. Ahhhh... what are we to do???

I did my clinicals there, I learned a lot there since they see many trauma pts. There are very good nurses there as well, but sadly the good nurses always take the rap for the bad nurses who are there and the administration. It does have a bad reputation and the trauma dept might be closing in about 90 days. All I can say is if you do go, look out for your self, do your job right because the state has their eye on them and anything and everything that goes wrong is quickly in the newspaper.Maybe you can just get an assignment somewhere else.
  7. yeah......you dont have to put up with that zoo!!:angryfire
  8. Most hospitals I looked into were offering a minimum of $25 per hr for new grads, plus a night shift differential
  9. Hi Graduatenurse, please dont give up!!!! I also just graduated and tomorrow will be my first day of orientation on the floor. I have to admit that I am a little anxious since this is the "real thing" you know, no more teachers to hold my hand,BUT I also know and everyone knows that just because I'm out of school and have my license does not mean I know it all. If that was the case there wouldnt be orientations or new grad programs. All experienced nurses I've spoken to have told me the only way to get your experience and to get comfortable is by working. So I know I'm going to be asking lots of questions. So dont give up, you're definitely not alone feeling this way. Don't let people who are selfish discourage you, DONT let them have that power over you. So keep trying. Remember "if at first you dont suceed, try, try, again!!!!!!". :kiss
  10. Good Luck!!!! Believe in yourself!!!:)
  11. CONGRATS!!!:balloons:

  17. Thanks to everyone!!! You are all really great people!!!!!!:kiss
  18. I know waiting is the most difficult part of this, because I just went through it, but remember that you have come a long way. So think positive and I wish you the best!
  19. Best of luck to you, believe in yourself, because you CAN do it!!!!:)
  20. Hi everyone!!! I am so happy, I found out today that I passed. I could not believe it. The wait was driving me crazy and I was thinking that maybe I didnt pass but I did. I know God was watcing over me. This site helped me very much to see that I wasnt alone. Thanks for your support and prayers. To all you waiting, believe in yourself!!!:) You can do it.!!!! Thanks!!!!!!
  21. Well, I' ve called everywhere to see what's going on. It seems like the DOJ hasnt sent in the necessary paperwork clearance yet, so that's where the hold up is. Meanwhile, I'll keep on waiting......and try to be optimistic, but this is just soooo hard on me.
  22. Hi, I've been hanging out here for a while, reading about others' experiences w/ the nclex, and I've tried to be patient while I await for my results. I took my nclex the 18th of August and I still dont have my results.(I did the livescan fingerprinting back in June) I called the BON and they told me about a wk ago that they dont have my DOJ livescan report, so until then, they cant send my results. I scored really well on the predictor exam and finished w/ 75 questions but I walked out feeling very insecure. I'm anxious because I start to work next week on my IP, and I want to know before then if I passed. I'm very anxious and feel like I'm losing my mind.
  23. Congrats Leeh!!!!! I'm very happy for you. You did it!!!!:)
  24. I know how you feel I took the nclex rn 2 wks ago, 75 question and still dont have answer of how it went. After the 1st week of being close to a nervous breakdown I realized that I need to keep my faith and remember that everything happens for a reason. This site has helped me very much because I see that there are many other people, that feel the way I do. As for now I am somewhat more at ease and still waiting.Good Luck!!! and always stay positive.
  25. I do have a SSN but you dont need it to check under license verification. I just go to license verification in the BRN website and punch in my name, but it hasnt shown up yet. I check for my name everyday. The BRN updates it everyday. I'm in California too so that is the only way, besides the mail, to check to see if we passed. Good Luck!!
