I got a job working in assisted living/rehab....the pay is better than what my other friends are making....not sure whether I get shift diff for working night or weekends or not but atleast now I am a working nurse.........yippee!! I definitely will take an experience I can get!!1!!!!!!!!! I will keep everyone posted about how it goes..... Thanks for the support!!!! Kim

I am in Fayetteville, NC and went to a job interview today....not sure how it went but I was only 1 in 3 that they were interviewing....good sign....not sure....since she said most places including there do not like to hire new grads but time will tell.(I will know definitely by 4 tomorrow)..it is a night shift position, which is what I prefer since my children will be sleeping while in daycare (if my husband is not deployed) and I can really focus on learning the skills better than when in school. I have applied everywhere within an hour away.....even though I really hate to go that far away since I do have young children....but a job is a job....

I am a new licensed LPN who is having problems finding a job.....which is weird since all the "nursing shortages". It is not just me....3 other girls that were in my class have yet to find jobs also...Everyone here seems to want someone with a years experience or more or no openings but noone wants to hire new grads to help them get experience. ... I do have an interview today which I am rather excited about, not because I want to work there but because it is a possibility of my having a job....... but also know I am competing with experienced nurses..... My resume is pretty good and I have good references from where I have worked (in the army and one other job, which I was at a year) I am kind of upset becuase I thought I would get my license and have a few choices but now it has come down to take what I can get....I do live in a military town, which means jobs are scare anyway...the va hospital has no openings ( I would get a veterans preference there) and the army hospital wants the year.....ahhhhh.....and the regular hospital recruiter told us there is 5 jobs and about 100 applicants........ I have thought about going back into the RN program but with 2 young kids I cannot swing the cost of daycare and the thought of going back to school right now is mind blowing...........I have posted resumes on monster.com....checked through the pages on here....read the newspaper everyday,....HELP!!!!!!! Desperate for a job.....in nursing.....hopefully!!!!! Kim

i took the lpn boards, but a friend of mine who just took her rn test last thursday said it was the nclex-rn made easy that really helped her...i bought the lpn one and that was what i studied with.....it is great and really helps you understand the rational, but honestly.....i studied 5 hours a day with a friend with 1 or 2 days off during the week and nothing i studied was on the exam and i had between 120-150 questions....good luck!!!!!! kim

After days of waiting and stressing.......I PASSED!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!! The 3 other girls I took it with all passed....even the one with 205 questions so It can be done!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!! Kim

I took my test September 2nd in Greenville and am too still waiting...it is driving me nuts and my husband too....I call and go to the website with nothing. Someone told me they update the phone 2x's a day. I wish they would make it faster than they are going cause it reaks havic on our nerves... .I had appx. 130-160 questions...(not sure) and I know I got the last one right....I know that doesn't mean much but I would rather know now pass/fail so I can plan my future not sit around waiting for the mail or having my phone attached to my ear.....Please keep me posted on how it goes and when you get your results....... I just wanted you to know that your post really makes me feel better...my test shut off at 140-160 questions and I am really scared about whether I passed or failed. I am in NC and it could take a week or longer to find out results. With the holidays it is even slower I am sure. I have bitten my nails to the grind, been grouchy with my husband, who has been wonderful about everything, and my poor kids are not used to an overly emotional mom...but no matter what I do, I cannot stop stressing over it....After reading you passed....I feel a little better knowing I stand a chance....I do know I got the last question right, which should ease my mind, but it doesn't...lol! Thanks again and really celebrate cause you deserve it!!!!!!!! :balloons:

If you go to the NCSOB.com and go to verify lisencure there is also a number posted that you can call.......it is in Raleigh. I cannot wait for a letter...lol....I guess time will tell!!!!Good luck! Kim

I took my NCLex-pn on the 2nd and have not slept well since I took it...I am a stressball....I keep going to the different ways to verify if I passed or not (phone and website) and have no clue how I did so cannot even go off that,,,I only know I did somewhere between 125-160 questions, with max being 205. My poor husband and kids are the ones who really feel it..I truly believe the waiting is the worst part,.....North carolina does not participate in quick results either cause Iwould have definitely payed extra to know immediately.......Good luck and I hope we both find out we passed!!!:)

I would not go off the website at all...when a girl I went through school with looked on the website nothing came up but when she called the number to verify, her certification number came up and that is how she knew she passed...it still does not come up on the ncbon website,......do not stress until you know something for sure!!!! (I too keep inputting my name and everything in since I took it on the 2nd) and call the number to see,,.,Also remember today was a holiday and with the weekend it down even more!!!!!!!! Take care! Hi! I just took my nclex on the 2nd in Greenville, NC and am waiting word on pass/fail. I had 140-160 questions (not really sure since the last time I looked I was on 123 and did some questions before it clicked off) The max for LPN is 205 and the min is 85. I think the waiting for the results is worse than anything...I am constantly calling to verify (in NC there is a number you can call and check) and am not sure how long it takes for it to come up. Some in my class found out as early as 2 days and some as late as a week and a half.(the girls I took it with have not heard anything either) but I know that Labor Day will slow my results being processed down some.....I am driving my husband and my kids crazy because I am so stressed and positively obsessed with wanting to know either way... If I give any advice about the NCLEX it would be to relax the night before and before the test starts (we went down the day before and stayed the night in a hotel),,,, and try your best..you have no clue how many questions you are going to get so don't freak if it keeps going after the minimum..I keep telling myself if I did not pass I will take it again with the knowledge of what it will be like and what to expect...and the only bad thing is that I will be out another $200.00.:) Take care and good luck!!!
