  1. hi dwag, I know what you mean, because I'm going through the same situation, Like you say there are very nice experienced nurses out there who are willing and dont mind helping out us who are new and learning, but...there are those couple here and there whom i guess just dont remember how it feels being new. I'm somewhat discouraged about my job because of that, but if I leave I'll probably end up bumping into others who act like that. I'm wondering if I should start looking elsewhere or just stick to it. It just seems that this one nurse who I have to work with gets bothered when asked a question and expects me to do everything "speedy" like her who's been nursing for decades. How am I suppose to learn and get confident when she's so inconsiderate, aside from that I dont want to run around "complaining" about her because it will just probably make me look like a winer. Ahhhh... what are we to do???

I did my clinicals there, I learned a lot there since they see many trauma pts. There are very good nurses there as well, but sadly the good nurses always take the rap for the bad nurses who are there and the administration. It does have a bad reputation and the trauma dept might be closing in about 90 days. All I can say is if you do go, look out for your self, do your job right because the state has their eye on them and anything and everything that goes wrong is quickly in the newspaper.Maybe you can just get an assignment somewhere else.
  7. yeah......you dont have to put up with that zoo!!:angryfire
  8. Most hospitals I looked into were offering a minimum of $25 per hr for new grads, plus a night shift differential
  9. Hi Graduatenurse, please dont give up!!!! I also just graduated and tomorrow will be my first day of orientation on the floor. I have to admit that I am a little anxious since this is the "real thing" you know, no more teachers to hold my hand,BUT I also know and everyone knows that just because I'm out of school and have my license does not mean I know it all. If that was the case there wouldnt be orientations or new grad programs. All experienced nurses I've spoken to have told me the only way to get your experience and to get comfortable is by working. So I know I'm going to be asking lots of questions. So dont give up, you're definitely not alone feeling this way. Don't let people who are selfish discourage you, DONT let them have that power over you. So keep trying. Remember "if at first you dont suceed, try, try, again!!!!!!". :kiss
  10. Good Luck!!!! Believe in yourself!!!:)
  11. CONGRATS!!!:balloons:
