Public Schools and transgender bathrooms.
You'd be surprised at how this younger generation is accepting and yeah pretty darn honest too. At my childrens' high school transgender students use whichever bathroom they are most comfortable with including the nurses bathroom. I bet if you asked a great percentage would say they either didn't notice or care, just in there to do their business.

Public Schools and transgender bathrooms.
Nurses are life long students of nursing science. Through nursing and medical science we already know sex change operations do not change one's DNA / chromosomes. A male who goes into surgery to be made to look like (not become) a female will not menstruate, ovulate, or be able to bear children. A female who has surgery to be made to look like (not become) a male will not be able to produce viable sperm to impregnate a female (and keep in mind they still have the exact same biological sex -- DNA / chromosomes -- if they have a cosmetic operation to look like the opposite sex). 2,400 transgenders who desire to look like the opposite sex (they cannot become the opposite sex -- only look the part, even with surgery). . Is there a reason you keep pointing this out?

Are We "Glorifying" Nurses?
But don't you think it's because people have just lost respect and have become ruder in general. Sad to say, but I find less respect in dealing with anything these days not just work

Sending kids home
Wish some of you were nurses at my kids school. One of mine went through a phase of frequency at the nurses office. Sorethroat, no fever an hour before end of day: Me: I think they can tough it out, SN: I think they should see their MD. Spitting a little blood, absolutely no other signs of distress. Me: They've had a cold, house is dry from heat. SN: They should probably have a chest x-ray.

Running the Spring Marathon
But can I just give a cheer for Boston where we just marked the one year anniversary of the marathon bombing. I am proud, and we should all be as a country, that even after last year's tragedy we show up in record numbers and show that once again we are strong and will not be intimidated by these horrible acts. The stories that have been told of the past year of compassion, strength, bravery and resilence are inspiring. I try to remember to think of these stories when I'm having a bad day. BOSTON STRONG

how to go about accessing records of my past immunizations?
As someone that works in a pediatric office we appreciate if parents acknowledge that pulling a list of immunizations or filling out forms can take a few days. Of course there are those that think, along with 50 other people, that it only takes 5 minutes (5x 50 adds up). Do you want to be the person in the exam room waiting for all those five minutes. Are you sure you had all the immunizations at hte family practice? Sometimes immunizations are done at other facilities and we never get the records. When you do compile a list, keep your own personel copy and update as needed.
