Preferred Home Health Care Agency?!
I heard they were hiring that's why I went there! Do you speak Spanish? I don't. I somehow got the impression that they have cases but need bilingual candidates. Am also a new grad so that limits the cases I can be assigned. Maybe I'll call them next week. Good luck with training! Keep us posted.

Preferred Home Health Care Agency?!
Hi. Did you start working or take the training classes? I called this company and went in for an interview. They told me they didn't have any available cases currently and I should keep in touch with them. I haven't called them since then.

Its been 7 years since nursing school
Sorry to hear what you are going through. I say look into the future and forget the past. I used the hurst review after being out of school for many years. I reccomend the online version. I didn't know where to start studying but hurst decided for me. It's the only resource I used and I loved it. I listened to the videos over and over and read the notes. I didn't do many questions. I did one test from hurst and I felt like it didn't help me much so I stopped. I passed the first time. Good luck to you.

I have an appointment at starlight to take the test and am not sure what to study. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what to concentrate on. I was told its 50 questions in an hr. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Do they test clinical skills too? Thanks in advance!

PTT is it 1.5-2.5 or 1.5 to 2?
I did look in Saunders. It says therapeutic level is 1.5-2.5x control for PTT-heparin and 1.5-2xcontrol for PT-warfarin.

PTT is it 1.5-2.5 or 1.5 to 2?
Anyone know the correct one?

PTT is it 1.5-2.5 or 1.5 to 2?
I always thought it was 1.5-2.5Xcontrol. Exam cram says 1.5-2X control.

Taking Nclex, What's Allowed in test center
Thanks for the reassurances! I've read how strict they are at the test centers hence my nervousness.

Taking Nclex, What's Allowed in test center
Due to lack of parking at my test center, I will have someone drop me off then pick me up or use public transportation. I've heard that they provide small lockers. I was thinking of bringing a wallet, phone and snacks(incase am there 6hr). Am I allowed to bring these things? I would turn off the phone. For snacks I was thinking granola bar and juice or water. Can I put them in a small handbag or does it have to be clear bag like a ziplock? Would my wallet and phone be in the same locker as the snack or would they separate them so I dont use my phone? During break if I need to eat a snack, do i go get it or do they get it for me? Sorry for all the questions? Just trying to make sure I dont mess up before I even have a chance to take the test. Please feel free to give me any suggestions. I think am more scared of the test center than the exam itself. lol.

Please Help! How Do I Apply For Nclex 4yrs After Graduation?
Just an update. I dropped off the application about two weeks ago and now am just waiting to hear from the BON. I really recommend dropping off the application in person if possible. Something was missing from my application and they were able to tell me there and then so I took care of it the next day. If I had mailed the application, I would have had to wait until I heard from them in the mail. They were also able to check for me if my school had sent my info to them.

Thanks for responding! Anyone know the best way to contact NJ BON. I've been on the phone for close to an hour and nobody is picking up the phone. Just listening to the boring music and constant "the next available agent...."

Please Help! How Do I Apply For Nclex 4yrs After Graduation?
I graduated a few years back from a school in New York but didnt take the nclex. I would like to register to take the nclex in new jersey. Anyone know what the procedure is for someone in my situation? I plan to call the NJ BON and see what they say but in the meantime I would love to hear your opinions. Also, do I need to contact the NY school to tell them to send my info to NJ BON or does the BON contact the school? Any info and/or tips will be trully appreciated.

Graduated 2yrs ago, haven't taken nclex, how to be marketable..
Thank you all so much for your responses!! I dont think I have a very good reason for not taking the nclex sooner, at least not good enough for a recruiter. I had babies after graduation and decided to stay home and raise them. I ended up procrastinating taking the exam and now here I am. Looking back I should have taken it sooner. I recently began studying and hope to take the exam soon. I will look into joining a professional organization. Also, after I take the exam I will see what other certifications I can get. As for the jounal subscription, I wasnt sure whether I could include it in a resume so thanks for the clarification. Thank you all again for your responses!

Graduated 2yrs ago, haven't taken nclex, how to be marketable..
I graduated 2yrs ago and plan to take nclex-RN before the end of the year. I realize that the job market is not very good and is especially worse for a new grad like me with no experience and who has been out of school for a while. I was wondering if any of the nurses could give me advice on what I can do right now to improve my chances of getting a job in the future. Am planning to subscibe to the American Journal of Nursing so I can remain current on nursing issues. I also thought it might look good on my resume. Any advice on what else I can do to improve my chances? Thanks!
