  3. OK Nurses I need your input, I have two Job offers one Job did a phone interview an the very next day they offered Job I'm like wow that was fast, I'm worried after I called back with more questions they didn't have the answers to the job they can't tell me if the job is going to be on going for long term she mentioned the project as referring to the job but she did not mention this in the interview I'm wondering if the project means something that is short-term and under a trial run specifically They don't know the answers to the job they can't tell me if the job is going to be on going for a long term she mention the project as referring to the job but she did not mention this in the interview I'm wondering if the project means something that is short time and under a trial run specifically this is through United Health Group to be exact the next opportunity was a serious interview and took almost 2 weeks to pick the best candidate this job seems to be legit and ready to fill the position as I was selected out of four nurses based on your experience would you say the term project leads you to think this first job isn't long term
  4. 403B you got me excited about this new opportunity Thanks so much!!!! 9. Attention all nurses..... Ok I just started my new job as a staff nurse at a "halfway House" AKA Transitional Facility, its where inmates are released to a work ready program to help them become prepared for real life after prison.....Moving forward Lots of red flags, please note my intentions are not to be negative, I needed this job or atleast something...My passion is mental health so I figured inmates or residents "they say" would have some form of mental health, one the nurse I'm working with is very stressed out she was pulled in from another area a prison to be exact to fill in and train me until further notice, this nurse has said she don't like it, its too much work, she talks about how big her office is at her job, she says its too much work, when she answers the phone she mentions "Hi Im Mrs. blank I'm training the new nurse and then she proceeds with her conversation, she has screamed at me saying she can't train me right now but comes back an apologize, She is making mistakes, she's not teaching me an entire step to one assignment, she went back and said oh I forgot to do this so I miss out on other things for going back to something else, she is unhappy and we found ourselves screaming at each other and I hardly know this lady after 4 days, now I'm second guessing my option to work here, my nurse manager has been called and she says she will be talking with her tomorrow, by the way my nurse manager is fairly new, not on top of that this job does have alot of autonomy, you do appts, consults, give meds not many though, you do intakes which is new admits not knowing how many you might get, most of the job appears to be secretary work with a little nursing, you of course will have flu shots, Physicals, Tb test, flu shots, etc so more task eventually when trained you work alone no co workers, doctor or NP comes once a week, you put in orders but any who I don't know yall WHAT WOULD YOU DO??? This lady has stated she doesnt want to train, and I dont think the company have anybody else due to the last nurse being in this role 7 years sorry im venting WHAT WOULD YOU DO
  10. Hi I'm thinking really hard on doing public health, are you still doing it if so how is it going so far

  12. Is it Humana by chance?? I'm almost scared to continue after all the reviews
  13. Are you still liking your Job with Humana, I'm awaiting my second interview and just want to know if the wait is worth it
  14. How's it going so far with Humana
  15. Hi do you work with humana still please give me feedback
  16. Hi anyone on hear work at a "halfway house/transitional facility" I just started my new hire paper work to work at one as a RN and this will be my first time, but I have background in acute psych and I love it sooooo much
  17. Hi I need some advice, my long term goals are to some day become a psychiatric NP I love me some psych, so im trying to decide if I should only work jobs that lean toward that area or not. I have two offers on the table one is case managent which I've never done so im not sure if I'll like it or not the other is working for a half way house AKA transitional facility where inmates work and are independent until they are sent home, schedule is good with both pay is a little less with corrections and its part time but potentially may be a full time after a meeting regarding such I've actually never worked either but interested in both if I take the corrections job I feel I will have time to keep my other job and do both I do home care as well...... Also I have 4 kids so I need the best flexibility. Then case management has benefits... Any advice on how to choose
  18. what company, im pending an interview for peach state case management
  19. Hi is anyone working for Agency by name of Total Med? or Are any info regarding peachstate health plan/centene corporation? Im very interested in learning more about this company working as a RN Care Manager. I've never done this type of work before but I love the monday thru fri schedule they have, I do have home care administration experience. I'm looking to succeed in my next career.
  20. Hi I just started the hiring process for centene as well Care Manager I in my area. Did you get on board? How is it going? I'm actually dealing with an agency by name of total med is that who you went through. Where did you train at, they told my Atlanta GA area for 4 weeks, in a nut shell tell me everything you can lol I hope I get the job
  21. That's a great idea, I have seen previous classes use facebook for their class so it must be helpful!!! I will look this up on facebook. Thanks!!!!!
  22. Thanks for that info, it does help someone like myself just going into the program this fall. I really think the key is to ask for help if you don't know after the teachers have explained it. The teachers stressed to us at our mandatory meeting that we should come to them if we need to. I agree that darton is a college that trys to give anyone a chance that is willing enough to come in an work hard.
  23. Well classmates I got my CPR scheduled through my local college so I'm happy about that. I didn't want to wait. I called darton today and they said they are going on a semester break so they won't be able to offer any CPR until Fall semester start. I'm happy to get prepared now than later. I feel more confident as time passes!!! I don't have anything else to do but order my scrubs which I will wait on that!!!!! I hope all is doing well and want to wish you all goodluck once again.
  24. A little advice about instructors is that some will act tough in front of a class then in their office with just you they act more caring and sensitive. Trust me I got a personal relationship outside of class than in class since I been in college it has never failed. One nursing program once told us that you have to be emotionally stable to care for others meaning you have to not cry or get too overwhelmed about any situation. I hope this help you!!! Now I'm bout to take the kiddos to the park, you gotta luv um!!!!!!!!
  25. I like your positive motivation jbrno8. I also have kids and just got into the program but I have no doubt in my heart. I have a calling on my life to be where I'm at and I know it's not to give up. Even if I didn't choose this as my challenge another challenge awaits down the line so I may as well go for it. If anything comes easy you better find out whats the cost because everything comes with a price tag.
