I have a BSN and a MSN-Educator from Chamberlain. Their MSN programs are accredited as of October, I believe. I graduated in February 2011 and we found out before we graduated that the programs were accredited. I was accepted in to a DNP program that has a FNP specialty and had no problem transferring some of my courses in. The program was very good and I had great faculty to assist me in the capstone. Pay in the Albany area is definitely depressing. 10 years critical care experience and a MSN and they offered me 31.00, that's what I made about an hour south 3 years ago with an Associates degree. Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for.

I know Chamberlain removed stats from their required core, but statistics are needed in their research course, which is what I'm sure you'll find anywhere. Luckily, really for the research course, you just need to know how to interpret the statistics rather than perform the calculations.

My program at UMass Amherst offers a BSN-DNP program with a family nurse practitioner track or a public health track. I know there are some others, but not sure off the top of my head.

I'm not sure I can answer your question. I was already licensed when I completed thir BSN program online. Chamberlain is accredited and the degree is recognized. I was able to get accepted into a DNP program, so academically the coursework is accepted. Sorry, good luck...

Yes, I agree and had the same problem. I initially did the MSN in education so I could teach when I was older and decided to leave patient care. Now I am enrolled at UMass Amherst in their DNP program in the family nurse practitioner track. They have a post-BSN or MSN enrollment. Since my MSN is in education, I actually have to complete the post BSN coursework although the core courses for my MSN transferred so I don't have to repeat them. Depending on your future goals, I would consider going right into a DNP program. I'm glad I have my MSN, but I think if I had further researched my options I would have gone right into a DNP after my BSN. Hope this helps...

Yes, I took two classes at a time and found it very manageable. The class format is not blackboard, but very easy to navigate and 100% user friendly. I haven't used blackboard recently, so I can't attest to it's similarities. I know for a fact the practicum and the capstone must be taken separately. All of your core and specialty track courses must be taken prior to these, so you end up taking them separately. However, you might just want to double check that. If you want to work in a NICU, you will have to look elsewhere. The two hospitals in Kingston (Kingston Hospital and Benedictine) do not have one. Also, the two hospitals are still in the process of merging and NYSNA has been brought in. Honestly, this situation has created a very negative work environment. Also, if you are looking for higher acuity, you will not find it there.

I graduated with my MSN -Educator from Chamberlain. I loved it and thought the classes were awesome except the statistics which they removed from the program. I took two classes at a time and finished in 1 year and 1 month. I didn't find it hard at all in regards to work load. At the time I was pregnant with my third child and worked part time. Actually I had my baby during my practicum and it was no problem. Just so you know up front, they do not allow you to take the practicum and the capstone together.
