I called the person over the nursing dept. and flat out asked her where I was and she told me. It doesn't hurt to try and they like to hear from people who are eager to get in.

Crazy things can happen. I was first on the wait list and had people at the school telling me to have other plans. Two people died - very freaky - that had already gotten in so their spaces opened up. The school ended up opening 8 spaces and I got in. Not everyone is getting financial aid so you may just have a chance with the drop date! Hang in there!

It annoys me too and like you, I don't post my grades. I've had people send me messages asking if I was doing ok in a certain class because of other people in the class posting their grades and they don't see me doing that so I'll write them back and and tell them my grades and say that I don't post my grades.

What area in NC do you live in? Mercy School of Nursing has a night program and it's located in Charlotte, NC.

Some community college nursing programs will accept courses that have been taken more than once to raise GPA so you may want to find out if your school does that.

Check the local community colleges. Most have NA I classes. You do not get paid to attend though, you have to pay for the class. That was my experience. I hate that didn't work out for you because that sounded like a great opportunity! That's the first time I've seen a NA I course at a hospital and a paying one to boot.

In NC PCTs are CNA IIs and must have CNA I (PCA) prior to taking a CNA II course. They make more (around $1 an hour) than CNA I and can do more skills. I just completed a CNA II course and will start nursing school in August. It has helped me SO much and I have learned a lot! Hope this helps. I don't know how it works in VA.

I start clinicals this fall too and feel the same way you do! I just completed the CNA II program and had clinicals at the local hospital and it helped me SO much. I am shy so it forced me into uncomfortable situations and I got pretty comfortable pretty quickly and that helped to raise my confidence level. I would check to see if you can work as a PCT where you're wanting to work and if you can, I would highly recommend it. A lot of hospitals hire more from within. My niece was a new RN grad last year and worked as a PCA for 3 months and was then able to transfer into a RN position. Hope this helps! :)

Hi guys! I know many people who really wanted in the ADN program but applied to the LPN program too just in case they didn't get in. Most of them have already gotten in to the ADN program so the numbers for LPN should go down quite a bit.
