A friend of mine had an interview last year and she was given scenarios and had to decide what protocol to use w/ the option of: have pt go straight to the ER make an appt for the pt or call the doctor to consult Did anyone else have similar interview experiences? My interview is soon and I want to be as prepared as possible. Can anyone offer any other interview pointers? Thanks in advance! :)

Does anyone know what the 6 weeks of training hours are? I was told they offer morning and afternoon sessions.

I would also choose Corrections over home health.. I've been a corrections RN for CDCR for 9 months and I love it! The pay is great and the inmates are generally very respectful and appreciate my help. I've never done home health.

Thank you for responding! You were correct! The interview was very quick.. She just looked over my resume... Asked me to tell her about myself and than she did the rest of the talking, selling me the company.. I think it went very well! She said the next step was the background check. I currently work for CDCR as a Registered Nurse in S. Cal in the desert (Full-Time Limited Term) and I'm ready to move back near civilization lol. I was recently offered a job for Sac County juvenile hall. and im still going through the background check/physical process... I'm trying to maximize my earning potential by getting a part-time or per diem job.. So I've lined up several interviews recently.. I recently had an interview at a CDCR prison in NorCal and thats where I'm hoping to land! So now its just a waiting game w/ my fingers crossed just feeling so happy to be relocating back to Sac :)

i think you did the right thing by admitting your mistake.. Don't take it personally that they are drug testing you.. Its stressful waiting but it'll all be over soon. I had a coworker who began having chronic pain due to an injury and no one realized she was spiraling out of control.. Long story short they found her dead of an overdose in her home 3 days later.. She had been treating pts for months high as a kite... To this day we all wonder did me miss the signs or turn a blind eye... Once this is all over they'll look at you w/ a newfound respect and trust you :)
