  1. How is the transition program going for you? I'm going to apply next year. I have a few questions if you don't mind sharing. How many days per week are you in class? How many days per week are your clinical's? I'm sure it varies per semester. Thanks for any info you can give :)
  2. The LTC Facility I work at has initiated a Cutural Change program. We are all really excited about this and can't wait to get started. Have you seen the "LOOK AT ME" video? I love the I CARE Plans, neighborhoods, family style dining.....
  3. Welcome & Good Luck!
  4. Congrats!~~~~~
  5. Native Texan here. Obtained my LVN ceritfication at Galveston College 2004. Married with one son, daughter in law & two wonderful grandchildren. We moved to East Texas one year ago & I love it here. Currently working in LTC as ADON, trying to finish up my pre requs to enter the BSN program & TAMUCC.
  6. Maybe you are having test anxiety. I would try a review class as posted above. Good Luck & Do Not give up!
  7. I had a patient (LTC setting) tell me that " I've been feeling funny lately, I guess I shouldn't keep taking those little morphine pills my daughter in law is giving me".

  9. the nurse : patient ratio may be more in texas. i have never lived in any other state but texas, therefore i only know what i am told & read here on these forums. if, however the nurse : patient ratio is that much more here in texas than in cali. (which is what seems to be the issue of debate here), i must conclude that we have some amazing nurses here in texas. to be able to care for more patients that other states are mandated by law to care for. way to go texas nurses & nurse aids!!! btw: my co workers & i are safe & awesome! proud texas nurse
  10. I agree with above post. Go for it! After several of years of " will I / won't I go from LVN to RN-BSN I've taken the steps, enrolled. Finally. I feel better allready just for making a decision. Good Luck!
  11. TheCommuter: DITTO!!
  12. Keep Trying. Check out monster.com, have you tried Hospice, Home Health? Something will come up.
  13. I respect every CNA I have ever had!! I think they are the "HEART" of nursing. There are lazy people in all professions and the Charge should be more carefull of what it said. It takes ALL of us to take care of our patients, take one element out of the equation and it will not work.
  14. Yes...PBDS, Dose. & Calc. questions (10).
