-
Master's Degree
Hey I have seen specific colleges actually offer a specialization MSN in Case Management so check those out!
-
Adrenal Fatigue.. so THAT'S what's wrong with me!
Please be cautious about this unproven unscientific un-diagnosis. The supplements to "cure" this problem actually cause liver failure..
-
What's the lowest potassium you would feel comfortable not supplementing?
Less than 3.. most of the time 3.2/3.3 turn into 3.8s the next day after dinner
-
Hospital Case Manager!
You will get orientation! Basically Interqual and Milliman are both programs to categorize patients admission necessity vs level of care.. as a Case Manager in a hospital you are basically planning everyone's exit out the door once in! Its fun and challenging.

Thank You Notes to Patients?
I concur; We as nurses should stand up AGAINST generalizing healthcare as just another branch of consumerism/retail - customer service is all the FAD right now, nurses just keep getting downgraded from professionals to HCAP improving front-line staff

2013 GWU FNP Program
Does GWU find you a NP preceptor?
-
New grad/new job
Short answer is No.. its really common sense. But I understand on your part you needed a job, any job.. the LTC on the other part, needed a warm body... that is until the regulators come a-knocking.
-
ENPC
If you work Med-Surg why does the director recommend ENPC?
-

-
IV Rocephin Question

-
If you could ask your CNO one question....
Why did you take away the med carts? What were you drinking at the time?
-
Can this nurse be saved?
You used another nurse's initials on MAR? I am sorry thats forgery on a legal medical document. There are no excuses. you could have caused THAT nurse in a trouble as well with your actions that you did not foreshadow.
-
NG tube irrigation
I use sterile water.. only because its available.. why not?
-
NOC shift and calling the MD
When in doubt, just call. Do something rather than not is my advice. I dont care what time is it, if your gut tells you that MD needs to know this change of status you pick up the phone and call. WORST that can happen is MD yells, but your license remains intact is super priority next to your patient's well being.

Nobody told me that after graduation...
OP: I am a male, and here come my harshest criticism for you: GET OVER YOURSELF, pass the NCLEX first than look for jobs when you can call yourself a RN and show a lic# on your Resume. Thats secret #1 to get your Resume looked at. The rest, I cannot divulge as you have shown how small minded and sexist you are by generalizing degrading comments towards males.

Male Chiropractor considering nursing...advice please :)
Can one of the chiro's on here clarify salary figures? Why choose to go for RN after chiro if the median salary is basically 150k+ a year, granted it may take substantial investment to start up a practice and than referral network, but year after year avg is 150k why go for RN to make 60-100k theoretically, NJ as my base state for above figures.

Vented tubing for lipids?
No vented tubing, lipids hang BELOW the filter when TPN is simultaneously infusing
-
Almost at my 1 year experience Mark as a Psych RN, thinking about Traveling. Help!
yes you are SOL in that case. That is why you should have a profile with multiple travel companies and keep them updated on your preferences. Pysch RNs are not in demand, so if its mostly HCA where people dont want to work LOL
-
Where would I be a good fit?
Yes, become your unit manager.
-
Lactulose and MOM?
No, do not mix. it might have BM but lactulose therapy is whats needed not MOM. It pulls away water as well.
-
Rapid Response - primary RN
Primary RN - gives her latest assessment of the patient, and a snapshot of their history in SBAR format during RRT. Primary RN should stay in room and not leave the patient, carry out orders if pt will be staying on floor, and help if not.
-
Bloody Sputum
No, solely from chest tube. But we need more Hx like why did she have chest tube, what did CT show, were they ruling out TB?
