  1. I'm sorry they don't offer the program for you yet I wish I could offer some advice for the other programs you are looking at or the GRE. Study and do your best! I wish you luck in your future endeavors
  2. Thanks! I had to stop working because it's really time consuming and intense but they do offer part time enrollment and I have several friends in the part time program who are able to work. My GPA was 3.8. The cost is substantial and I've had to rely on student loans to help but so far I feel the cost is well worth it. I have a friend in another FNP program and she is amazed at the things they do for us at Georgetown. Hope this helps :)
  3. I am currently in the second semester of the FNP program (full time) at Georgetown and love it! It's an intense program but so far the instructors have been very supportive. The cost is high but I feel like it's well worth the expense.
  4. Yay!! Woohoo! Congrats! I know how stressful it is waiting for a decision That would be awesome if we are in some of the same core classes together!
  5. Congrats on getting accepted and your brand new baby! :) I am from Southwest Louisiana but now live in Southeast Texas. I am currently working part time as a home health nurse but plan to quit working once the program starts. I am in the full time program and the advisor said to expect to spend 80 plus hours a week on course work and lectures! Yikes! I am married and have two children, my daughter is 12 and step son is 10. My plans are to focus on school work during the day while the kids are at school and the hubby is at work and hopefully be able to find some time to spend with the family in the evenings. I haven't looked into scholarships yet but have applied for financial aid. I don't think I will be eligible for any grants but will look into the student loans that they offer. We have always paid for my tuition thus far so I am new to this but there is no way we can afford to pay Georgetown's tuition on our own, especially if I step down from my position. I, too, am hoping to find support throughout the program but I haven't heard of anyone on this board, until you, who is starting in June. Have you logged into Georgetown's 2GU yet? There are some social groups that I have joined such as "Moms @ Georgetown" and "Future FNPs". Check it out...they even have groups for most states and big cities that you can connect with!
  6. I know it's extremely nerve wracking waiting for a response but hang in there! They told me that although they try and get responses out as soon as possible sometimes, especially closer to deadline, it can take longer.
  7. Hi! I was just accepted into Georgetown's FNP June 2013 cohort and hoping to meet others who will be part of this cohort as well. Is there anyone else who is as excited and nervous as I am to begin this new journey? :)
  8. I was just accepted into Georgetown's FNP June 2013 cohort! My application was sent to faculty for review on April 2nd and I received my acceptance letter on April 4th! So excited....and nervous all at the same time! Good luck for those still waiting for news!
