  1. I am starting in January!
  2. I work 40-50 hours a week and have small children. It's all about time management and prioritization :)
  3. The University of San Francisco encourages it but recognizes that not every environment is appropriate so they also assist finding placements outside of ones employment
  4. GPA was 3.9 but to be honest, they are looking for more than just GPA. Just as you are looking for something to get out of the program, they look for how students will contribute/better the program--if this makes sense. Currently the BSN-DNP program is only held on the main campus so I go up there once every week or every other depending on the semester
  5. I'm just about to finish my first year and while it's been tough, I am really happy with my choice. Plus, my cohort is amazing.
  6. There actually several new grads...but they are all new grads from USF
  7. Oh, maybe I should clarify--I'm a nurse (have been for 4 1/2 years) and got accepted into the DNP program (but starting with my BSN). So maybe we are talking about 2 different things :)
  8. SFLady, how do you like the program? What are you planning on doing with the degree? I just got accepted for Fall 2011 and am starting to have doubts (thanks to my Nurse Manager) that it will be useful. So I have been sitting on my acceptance letter waiting for a sign... Any advice would be helpful!
  9. I just recently got my acceptance letter--anyone else out there? I was totally excited until I told my NM (who is a CNS) who told me *and I quote* "You will be an overqualified, underpaid bedside nurse because there will be no jobs for you"... And now I have doubts...major doubts KBKicker
  10. I just returned from a week long trip to CO and was wondering if anyone had any feedback on University hospital (in Aurora), Medical Center of the Rockies, and/or Sky Ridge? My husband and I will be moving to CO in about a year and was just wondering about pay, environment, any super floors, etc? By the time we move, I'll have had a years experience on a cardiology/med-surg floor in Boston if that helps. Thanks!!
  11. Thanks for the feedback. I think I am going to hand deliver my resumes--I don't really care about who sees my resume, I just want to make sure it does.
  12. Hi everyone, I am a brand new poster (I have been reading posts for awhile and thanks for all the very helpful information!). I'm in my last semester of a nursing program () and will very soon be applying for jobs. I just wanted to ask if I should just submit my resume and cover letter over the internet and hope someone takes a peek or if I should go to the individual hospitals and directly submit them to HR/find the nurse recruiter? I guess I'm just a little paranoid about submitting my resume/CL into cyberland :) Thanks in advance!
