  1. "This isn't the Hilton... You get what you choose off the menu!"...
  2. Our hospital only requires gloves for contact precautions, unless it is CDIFF, then we have to gown and glove. No mask unless it is airborne precaution. i see people going in with no gloves, but washing before they leave stating "it's only history of MRSA" or how many people do you think come in here that have MRSA as visitors? It is a lose/lose battle in my opinion; yes there is some control, but there is never full control unless P&P are adhered to 100% of the time by 100% of the staff and that is highly unlikely. All it takes is one person to go in without PPE and come out and contaminate other surfaces...
  3. That sounds more like a nurse intern. A nurse tech is the same as a nursing assistant... new name, same job.
  4. Neuro/Tele floor. Max is usually six, average is five, lucky if we get only four, would flip out or walk out if I had eight;)
  5. Be truthful with yourself as to what your true interest are as far as chosing which position to accept. Next, make your phone calls to the other two, also being truthful. No, do not give them the name, unless they ask. I was in the same position and simple called the one I did not accept and said "Thank you so much for the opportunity, but unfortunately, I have decided to accept a position that better meets my needs at this time. It is full time and all you have to offer me is per-diem. I hope you understand I have to do what is right for me and my family."
  6. Call....Call the nursing recruiter and find out if they are hiring. Do not rely on the websites! and yes, ignore the threads... Positions are always opening up. People change careers, change positions, move up, move down, things are always changing and opportunity is there. Keep going for it!
  7. I would too! I guess it would be different if she/he tried to make restitution by repaying the money, but there does not seem to be any remorse, just a sense of entitlement:(
  8. YES! YES!! YES!!! Nursing is wonderful... I am a new RN since May and started working in Sept and have been on my own for three weeks now. I love it. It is stressful, scary, intimidating, nerve wrecking, overwhelming, and exhausting. I have learned to overcome so many obstacles already and am very excited about my future!
  9. I think that was a great explanation of how to hang it. I was taught to do it all when the blood arrived, needless to say, when I did it on my own for the first time, I ended up with a "pink" bag. The tech came out to inform me, and I nodded and simply admitted to my error and moved on:rolleyes: I will use your steps in the future as it makes more sense to me. Thank you!
