It is for the ABSN program. And there are 15-20 scholarships for 40 people. Not everyone applies. It is a 2 year work commitment and it pays for about 2 semesters. Hope that helps!

Do whatever is easiest for you drive-time wise. They are all pretty similar for fundamentals. First semester flies by and is full of group projects, learning basics, and busy work. It really is busy but not that difficult. I just started in August. If you have any other questions, ask!

I would use youtube to explain material that I was having trouble with and it helped a lot!!

At IUPUI you could by Landau scrubs from the bookstore or Scrubs and Beyond. I think the patch was $3 and the bottoms $18ish and the Top $20ish.

Do you guys worry about spoilage? I am afraid to bring meats or anything that can't sit out...makes me nervous!

I got accepted to my ABSN program, so I will be giving up my seat at Indy/Lawrence. I am going to wait until Tuesday to call...just so it all sinks in and I know what I am doing/deciding. I am happy that one unsuspecting alternate is going to get a happy phone call next week!

I got in at Indy with a 180.3. I am waiting for a letter from IUPUI and if I get in there, I will be giving up my seat. Have you guys heard that there is no PN program this fall at Indy. There is just ASN and they are accepting more than normal for the RN program. I am sure that tthat makes a lot of people feel good and more confident about their chances. They are participating in a simulation study in which all the students will be in groups of either

That would be so great if you could speak at the orientation (hopefully I will be there!!). I have a 3 year old and a supportive husband, but I know that I am going to be juggling difficult schedules (with daycare) to meet the start and end times for clinicals. The 7am to 7pm clinicals worry me because daycares are just not open those hours. Plus, being in school, money isn't just flowing in...you know! Any advice or ideas (not sure if you have kids) but you have been through clinicals...what are the hours like? I assume you have to be downtown by 7am...right?

I haven't 100% decided...I want to see which clinical areas I have the most interest in. I love teaching and the thought of research studies sounds really interesting to me which is along the lines of a Clinical Nurse Specialist, I think. There are so many specialties and certifications you can get...it sometimes boggles my mind!

I am working on my application for IUPUI's ABSN program right now...it is due March 15th. You have to submit an essay and it has really gotten me thinking about my ultimate professional goals. Anyone else want to go back after their ASN/BSN and get a Masters?

hduckworth: It is impossible to know what the cutoffs are going to be or what is going to be good enough. I have taken the TEAS once and will most likely take it again just for peace of mind that I have done everything that I could possibly do to improve my chances of acceptance. I would be so mad at myself if I missed the cut off by a point or two and didn't take advantage of taking the TEAS a second time, you know?? Anna _________________________________________

Yes, I took both 101 and 102 online. The lab is online as well done at home. Some are computer simulations and some were dissections. Some people did not do the dissections and just watched youtube videos on the process. You could do this, but I really enjoyed the dissections and seeing it first hand. Your choice if you buy the at home lab kit. All lab sheets were downloaded off Blackboard (no need to order a lab book) Mine was based out of Columbus.

oh, and what are the scholarships based on with community and clarian? Is it need based or merit based? Essays, interviews?? Did any of you get one?
