  1. I have the episode Tivo'd, hoping to watch it tonight. :) Susan Nursery RN
  2. I think you are feeling completely normal. I am a Dec graduate and I got my dream job. I wanted to work in the newborn nursery. While in school, I introduced myself to the manager, spoke with her about my interest and the possibility of working there. Basically she told me they do not normally hire new grads but to check with post partum to get my foot in the "complex" then once I had experience and there was an opening I may be able to move over. I decided to explore my options. I ended up interviewing with the complex managers (they all interview together). Apparently, the nursery manager was impressed with me and she offered me a job in the nursery. I was so excited I couldn't stand myself, LOL. :chuckle But I was so nervous because what if I didn't liver up to her expectations. She apparently thought I was something special, I kept hearing it from everyone when I said where my job was. No one could be Jerry took me. That made it worse. I also hear the "Do a year of med-surg first". I hate med surg, why make myself miserable for a year. I didn;t have to go to nursing school. I don't have to work, I surely did not get a degree to be miserable and that is what would happen if I went to med-surg. My point is, you know where your heart is, follow it!!! I started in the nursery about 2 weeks ago and I love it. Everyone is so nice to me and know I know basically nothing, even the manager. I feel blessed. You are too. Take your job, enjoy it and don't worry, be happy!!!:Melody: Susan Nursery RN
  3. I feel your pain. Our HR sucks. THey need to take some CS classes!! :angryfire
  4. but all i did was look through the policy and procedure manual. :) we have jacho coming next week so everyone is feverishly working. my preceptor is actually there as "workdays" yesterday, today and thurs, just cleaning, so i will be doing pretty much nothing. she is a staff member on friday so i should actually do something then. we'll see. i did get my locker and shoe cubby. j they had 2 big signs for me, one inside and one outdoor hanging above the nursery windows, i felt so wanted. susan, rn nursery:balloons:
  5. I don't know anything about that review. The NCLEX is national!! GL Susan, RN
  6. That is awesome!! I knew you would!!! CONGRATS TO YOU ALL!!!:balloons:
  7. BIG (((HUGS)))) to you all waiting. I know just how you feel!! I had to wait 11...yes you see right 11 days! Talk about misery. I *KNEW* I had failed and was just sick, but I got wonderful news Monday, I passed and I know you all will get the same wonderful letters behind your name!! RN!!! Susan, RN
  8. :balloons: CONGRATS TO YOU!!! Susan, RN
  9. I FINALLY found out.... :balloons: I PASSED!! Obviously, I am so excited and can hardly believe I am officially an RN now! Started my new grad orientation on Monday and I start my new job on the floor on Tuesday! :) I am an RN in the newborn nursery!! Thank you to all of you that encouraged me!!
  10. Unfortunately no. But, I have decided to remain positive until I get a letter telling me otherwise!!
  11. Thank you. I hope you are right, I will try! :)
  12. UGH! I took the NCLEX on 1-13, a week and a day ago today. I had 90 questions and thought it was hard as hell. I have felt terrible since, I just know I failed. Anyway, only 2 other classmates have taken it before me, they both found out by using there SSN# to verify a license on NC's BON website (to see if they have been issued a license) and they got a letter confirmation the same day they saw it online. Well, it has now been 8 days for me and NOTHING! The website doesn't recognize my SSN and I haven't gotten a letter saying Pass or Fail. I am not sure what to do now. Just wait I guess. I want to hold out hope, but in my heart I know it means I failed. It just kills me, I was an A student, I studied, took a review class, I just don't know what happened. Any suggestions on what to do now. How long should it take? Thanks...I am going crazy not knowing one way or the other. Thanks for your support.
  13. CONGRATS!! I'm still waiting, I don't think that means good news.
  14. Awesome news. :balloons: Hope I get to celebrate with you soon.
  15. Small and discreet, not problem for me.
  16. As long as it is neatly groomed, I think it is ok.
  17. I'll be working in the nursery, they have no men. However, I just graduated in Dec. We had 6 guys out of 33 students.
  18. As I patient (or nurse) I would not want to see hair hanging out of the V neck. Would anyone want to me my armpit hair if I didn't shave it? NO! Ewwww!:chuckle
  19. Wow, 14? Whew. I didn't get any. I also took the NCLEX yesterday, mine cut off at 90. You sound much more confident than I feel. I am nervous as crap. Good luck to you! Hope we are both celebrating soon.:balloons:
  20. Good for you for standing up for yourself!!
  21. I am in a similar situation. I went back to work 2 days a week when my son was 8w. Then @10m, I quit to go to nursing school, 3 days 8-12 and 2 days 6:30-1. He is now 2.5 and I am starting work in 2 weeks. At least it is only 3- 12's, but it will be strange not being with him those days. I am excited, but nervous. Good luck to you and your family.
  22. I didn't have any "religion" questions on my nclex. However, on on of my practice tests there was a ? about which meal was NOT appropriate for someone of Jewish faith.
  23. When you got the info from the NCBON in the mail, how did it come? I have heard if you do not pass, they send you info on the stuff to "study up on". If you pass, they send you?...Just a letter saying PASSED? I am trying to get prepared for what to lok for in the mail. I took boards yesterday 1-13 and feel terrible. Is it smaller envelope -Pass Larger envelope- fail? Thanks.
  24. I am alittle more up the coast and a bit inland, in New Bern. We are not as big as Wimington, but it is nice here. New grads start at $18/hr...$20/hr with shift diff. Cost of living is pretty low, too. We had our house built for $116K for 1540 sqft.
