  1. Reading Comprehension- Conclusion score

So I just finished, and at risk of duplicating a post in Texas Nursing: The problem is that I received a 57% in the Reading Comprehension sub-section called "Conclusions". Note: I received a 100% on Meaning-Word Use, and Understanding, and a 94% on t...
  2. Actually, I can build a better PC than any mac for far less than any current mac costs. It's not just on paper (hint: Mac vendors are the same as PC vendors, enjoy the mark up). But then I've been building my own systems since 1990, and have had a co...
  3. Biology & Anatomy/Physiology

I was in the same situation, but I took A&P my first semester in college not having had a science course since 1991 in HS. Seemed to work out, 4.0, tutored it for years, got into Phi Kappa Phi, aced all my science courses. Depends on how you stud...
  4. 1) Interlaced screen: enjoy your future eyesight (Really, interlaced screens are not premium for vision) 2) People that use laptops in class are disrespecting their fellow classmates, and lack discipline. While our society tells us to ignore others, ...
  5. Yea verily, I'm trying to comb through the ~550 post thread and sort commonalities. And I have a post, near the end, asking for folks HESI and GPA info. One commonality is high CT. I'm not sure how the information in this thread is put together, but ...
  6. Reading Comprehension- Conclusion score

After you finish each section the grade displays next to the name of each section in brackets. e.g. Reading Comprehension | [92] You could click on the left for the individual report, or even at the bottom for the total report, but that's just a bot...
  7. UT Houston (Fall 2014 applicants)

Howdy! Curious to know a few things (and hoping someone can sum up the vast experiences shared in this thread): 1) Are people with pre-reqs still unfulfilled placed on a wait-list/not accepted, even if it's clear they are going to finish them before ...
  8. Anatomy & Physiology Hesi A2 Help, Please!

I tutored A&P for 2 years at my university, then I took histology (before I decided to go into nursing). Bio 1 and 2. Anyway, I'd recommend at least knowing the systems of the body, maybe some of the highlights of the female and male reproductiv...
  9. Just finished taking HESI A2! My experience might help you...

First (my results, and my question): https://allnurses.com/hesi-entrance-exam/reading-comprehension-conclusion-935378.html Second: For UTHS there are 8 sections to take, and the extra sections you do not need (Chem and Bio). They'll all be present, s...

  11. Ut houston spring 2015

I'm applying for Spring 2015, 100 hours (was a bio major), 3.92 pre-req GPA, 4.0 science GPA (and 3.76 full GPA, Phi Kappa Phi member, no PBK). What I'm concerned about with UT Houston is the preponderance of errors in regards to the information prov...
  12. MOMS: how many credit hours do you take?

Do Dads that have custody count? Or is this sex specific? I'm at 100 hours, and switching to nursing. I take an avg 18 hours/semester, 19 this coming Fall to finish up pre-reqs. My low point was 14, but I had organic chemistry with the double lab, an...
  13. TWU Houston Spring 2015 Applicants

My university doesn't offer Associates Degrees- it's a 4 year, but to complete my core, if that's all it takes, I would need to take yet another technical writing course (having taken 3 4000-level science writing courses, I'm exhausted with the idea)...
  14. 4 years ago I started on a path leading to nursing school. The first year I finished half of my pre-reqs, but then decided I wanted to try for something more. That part, the more, is hard to explain: when I started college, at 36, I didn't believe I ...
  15. Coming back to Nursing- Questions/Concerns

Thank you for the response. No, I only pursued pre-med as a means to make my intended biology degree worth while. I wanted to push myself, but my reasons for even going to college were, and are, to help people directly. To ease their pain and comfort...
  16. TWU Houston Spring 2015 Applicants

I'm considering applying to TWU, but right now am finishing up my app for UT. As explained in a previous post today- I'm 20 hours shy of a degree in biology, but am jumping ship (and not due to a low GPA- I'm in the top 10% of my class) for nursing. ...
  17. First semester done- 4.0 cumulative!

Yay! I wanted to come by here and thank everyone who earlier in the year provided so much help for my questions, and to the one person who prompted me to take A&P I my first semester in college. I'm very pleased with the results thus far, in fact...
  18. First semester done- 4.0 cumulative!

6 Classes is up there, that's for sure. I have no intention of doing that many courses again unless I have to. And honestly- the Labs, which are oddly only 1 credit hour, were so much more difficult (in a sense- no direction, just free for all/sink o...
  19. First semester done- 4.0 cumulative!

I am too, or thought I was. I went made sure that every day I did at least 2-3 math problems just to stay fresh. I couldn't really study math like other subjects- I would have homework (which was online), as well as quizzes (online), but I would go ...
  20. First semester done- 4.0 cumulative!

Thank you, thank you :) It was just a lot of studying, and knock-on-wood, it all wasn't that difficult. Except the English- 6 essays! It was every 2 weeks was a new out of class essay, then an in-class final. That was brutal (for me).
  21. First semester done- 4.0 cumulative!

Actually I the kids I'm in courses with have said the same thing, but it's really that I know how to study and don't get distracted. I worry over quizzes even. Can't study at home, so I was on campus 5-6 days a week, and late, to study study study. ...
  22. First semester done- 4.0 cumulative!

Normal first time in college stuff: English, Algebra, Intro to Psych, A&P Lecture, A&P Lab, Gen Bio.
  23. do you ever get scared?

Can't fluff pillows at a corporate job! I know- they're not fun. Any job outside of selling tacos or clothing will come with some degree of stress and problems, and you must be able to cope.
  24. Hi guys! So here's the deal: I'm 85% sure I'm going to be moving next summer to Asheville, N.C. There is the UNC-Asheville, and of course in 'near by' Chapel Hill is the UNC School of Nursing- a very decent school for a BSN. My problem is that I'm i...
  25. Just curious- I remember reading the stories on here months before I even applied to college, then expressing my trepidation after I applied during the last week before school began. I'm doing great so far, but gosh dangit if it isn't a lot of work....
