Criminal Record
Unfortunately, the legal system is not equal. I hear about it every day from my wonderful finace who is a public defender in the juvenile court system here in Minneapolis. If you are from a suburb, white, and wealthy you are treated much differently than if you are middle class, poor, or a minority; commit a crime and the punishement/long-term affects will be much different depending on your class. Anhyow, you might want to try for an expungment (removal of these items from your record). You will need to go before a judge and should not need lawyer. Laws very by state on this. Good luck. Stand up. Keep Fighting - Senator Paul Wellstone

Arrested at 18
My significant other is a public defender - if the case was thrown out and thus you were not convicted of a crime, I would not disclose. Getting arrested is not the same as being convicted. You should not have to disclose arrests.

What is a union????

My husband works for me- is this ever going to work?
This has disaster written all over it. Most places do not allow a spouse in a supervisory role over another spouse. While it can work, it has the potential to be very disastrous.

Need opinions from someone who has taken A&P I
A&P is very school specific. Someone posted earlier that an A with one proffessor would be a C with another - they hit the nail right on the head. I have taken many advanced science courses (calculus based physics, organic chem), math courses (multivariable calculus, differential equqtions, linear algerbra, calc based statistics etc), and engineering courses and I am finding the time I currently have to spend with A&P 1, to get an A, is greater than the time I spent with any of those. While it is possible to do well in a shortened summer session, I would hate to have to take A&P 1 with a tough proffessor in that format.

Is this new grad a nut or what? Opinions please !
I agree, you might be onto something here. Perhaps this grad is onto something. We could introduce a new nursing course - Nursing according to Monty Python. Of course everyone would be required to use a british accent in class and would even be graded on it.............

Nurse NOT among the fastest growing jobs/careers
No, nursing is not the one of the "fastest growing jobs". But nursing will create a large number of jobs due to its current size. Take a career that currently employs 50,000 people and say it is projected to grow at 50% over the next 6 years - that creates 25,000 new jobs. Take a career that currently employs 2.3 million (as nusring does) and is porjected to 21% to 35% ( http://stats.bls.gov/oco/ocos083.htm ) over that same time period, this creates 483,000 - 805,000 new positions. Also, the IT job projections are BS. I currently work in that industry and see the many IT people that are our of work.............

Going to North Hennepin
A & P is a commitment. The average on our first test was in the high 60's. I did well on that one and the one we had last week but this has been one of the toughest A's I have had to work for. It seems that a lot of people are discouraged due to the number of low grades and the drive to try and make an A in order to get accepted into their respective programs.

A&P during summer session
I think it depends on your prof. I have always been an A/B student (through an almost completed engineering degree - calc, physics, chemistry, differential equations etc.) and am finding that A & P 1 is giving me a run for my money. I have an A in the course but it has been a struggle. We do have a great prof though. Due to the number of students trying to apply for health care programs, I think a number of colleges are using the A&P sequence as a weed out class.........

What punishment should this nurse get?
Why, do you think it is a little harsh?? Ok then how about just a flogging......
-
Is this new grad a nut or what? Opinions please !
Does this mean I should not go around quoting political, religous, and soical ideas from the Life of Brian, Holy Grail, and The Meaning of Life in a British accent when I become a nurse??? Darn........I was so looking forward to that.

What punishment should this nurse get?
