Does it really take that long to get your NCLEX scheduled after you pass school? Hope not! I want to take it while it's still fairly fresh in my brain!

What was your experience like? Do you feel your instructors both clinical and theory were fair and prepared you well for the NCLEX and work as an RN? Where did you go for clinicals? Did you have a choice of day or night clinicals? What is the administration like at that school? Organized? Not? Most of all, do you have any regrets about going to Inver Hills? Is there anything that you could change if you could? The reason for all these questions is that I am at a horrible LPN program currently (St Paul College) and am having a terrible 1st clinical experience. I didn't hear anything about their horrible reputation until after I had already started, so I don't want to go in blind again for another poor experience. Thank you so much! katmiaow

This is horrible! I feel so bad for you guys going through this. Although, I must admit, it makes me feel less alone in my problems with my crummy school (see my post regarding this). Does anyone have any suggestions to whom to report this to, or anything like that, if the dean doesn't give a ****? The State? The National League of Nursing? Your state nursing union? Any suggestions guys? I mean, NO ONE should have to go through this nonsense. We paid for (through the nose some of us) and at great personal sacrifice to become COMPETENT and COMPASSIONATE nurses. If we have such morons teaching us, however are we going to make it? I'm all for petitions, letter writing campaigns, things to bring this situation to public light.

This sounds exactly like my school...I'm in the LPN program and my clinical instructor sucks, gives you absolutely NO encouragement whatsoever, the woman who taught us Fundamentals and Dosage is on another clinical group and the woman who is with us now is EVIL. She is condescending, refuses to answer questions, and is downright rude. *sigh* I would drop, but the folks at my school would probably put me with the same *****. No decent clinical sites, unless you count nursing homes, a woman who is still on staff who cheated her son through the program, the list goes on. None of the people I complain to (including the dean) seem to give a **** though. I also notice by talking to some of the people who were in this program prior to me say that many of the instructors change, so obviously they can't keep anyone quality. I'm just counting down the days til Clinical one is over. 11 days to go... *sigh* I dread going to Clinicals every day, it's that bad.

Sweet Strandy's! I didn't think that Jude would let you do an open book test! I know what you mean about the finals and all these tests. Hey Strandys, We took a mini vacation last weekend (one that we could not really afford), but I think it helped a little bit. I hope that the next semester to come gets easier. I know we have a LOT more tests and faster in Med Surg 2, but at least we'll be out on the floor and that will be good for some practical knowledge. (I hope.) Yours in stress, katmiaow :wink2:

through Globe College, has anyone heard anything about it, good or bad? They are accredited through the state of MN, and are working on national accreditation. So any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm going on a college tour hopefully Friday, so I'll let you guys know what I think. The first semester (before clinical 1) is winding down, and I'm stressed as hell, but hopefully it will be worth it because I AM NOT taking Fundamentals and that stupid "Success Strategies" class.

Does anyone know of any good NCLEX-PN "play tests" or sample tests online, preferably free? I have found quite a few for the RN, but not the LPN. Thank you! katmiaow :)
