Florida job market for new grads or returning nurses
Im a US citizen and I think that if its impossible for citizens to get a job it must be even harder for non us citizens. Let me re-phrase. Its very hard for new graduates to get a job right now. If your relative has tons of experience in nursing it may not be as hard. Times are tough though.

feeling frustrated by AN posts and second guessing myself
I don't want to discourage you but It sucks to graduate from school and fill out application after application and not even get a call back.

Miami Baptist Scholars Program Reviews
It is absolutely amazing. I received the scholarship and it is one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. Baptist is one of the best companies in the country. All of the Baptist health facilities deliver high quality care to patients. Resources are readily available. I would know because I have been in other hospitals and Baptist is definitely on top. Right now many new grads cannot find jobs. I feel so fortunate and blessed to have a job right out of school who is giving thorough training for 4 months to prepare me to be an efficient and safe nurse. Go for it! You wont regret it.

Florida job market for new grads or returning nurses
I graduated in May and took boards Mid June. Immediately after I got my license number I started sending applications everywhere both palm beach county and dade county. Not even one call back. I received one email from a home health company that hires new grads but the pay is 16/hr. No one is hiring new grads. I was only looking to supplement my income part time because I already have a job I will be starting in August thru the organization that provided me a scholarship and guaranteed to give us jobs. I am so fortunate and forever grateful that I applied and received the scholarship because they are only giving jobs to those they sponsored. I suggest student nurses try to get a job during nursing school in a hospital as a tech or CNA to better their chances of finding a job after nursing school. Good Luck!

NCLEX 265 Questions...Good Pop Up!!!!
I think everyone feels this way after the test. I felt absolutely horrrible. I thought there was no way I could have past that test. I did the pearson trick afterwards and I am going to be honest it did give me some relief. I stopped at 75 questions and more than half of my test was SATA. Which really made me feel even more insecure. I didnt do Kaplan or any review which didn't help my anxiety either. Go ahead and try to re-register. Trust me you will feel better. Someone I know had 265 questions and passed and someone i know had 75 and failed. Good luck and stay positive!

NCLEX 265 Questions...Good Pop Up!!!!
Hi, I bought Kaplan strategy and review 2011-2012 book. I read the first few chapters which teaches you how to answer questions. The book is about $20. I also download nclex 4000 by lippincott from an online website. This software was good because it had alternate type questions and rationales. I did 350 of them. Overall I did about 600 practice questions. I did not pay for a review because I couldn't afford it. However through out nursing school I used Saunders and always did practice questions before my exams which I think helped me overall. Good luck!

Pearson Vue Trick Works!!!
I have a question. When they mail you your official results does it say your score. Im curious to know.

Have you ever heard of this many SATA?
Reading this post makes me laugh when I look back. I just took my nclex and about half of my test was select all that apply if not more than half. I was freaking out! I passed but it was truly traumatizing. I used the true or false method for answering these questions.

Pearson Vue Trick Works!!!
Hi guys, I took my test on two days ago and I left feeling like I failed. I had no confidence what so ever. My test shut off at 75 and more than have of my test was select all that apply, I was freaking out . It took me 2 hrs because I was so unsure of the questions that I took forever. As soon as I got home I did the pearson trick and got the good pop up. I was still not too comfortable. I check today and I passed. I barely prepared for the test. Try to cram a few days before and was very anxious but thank god I passed. I advise people to really study so u don't feel so insecure. Good luck!

Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Program
I was accepted in Jan 2009. I applied the very last day to apply which was oct 1 2008 and interviewed on November 5th. I received the acceptance letter a few weeks later. I hear that now they have a lot more applicants now so its probably why its taking a while. But they are not conducting interviews anymore. I wish you the best! Good luck!

Becoming a nursing professor?
Hi everyone, I am to obtain my BSN in nursing soon and I am interested in teaching. I been doing some research because I was thinking to about getting a MSN in nursing education. I looked online at faculty nursing jobs and they all want at least 5 years of experience and a variety of experience from different areas. Many want a Phd in nursing. Should I not pursue an MSN in education? Realistically as a new grad with no experience I will not be able to work as a teacher for many years to come. What would be the best thing to do? just work and get experience and later on purse a MSN or now? Thank you,

Barry University or Nova Southeastern University
When you graduate you apply for positions that are open. Baptist has a paid program called the versant program. Basically you have a nurse work side by side with you for i think 18 weeks. is for new graduates. After that you are on your own. They pay the same rate regardless of the scholarship. I applied to Nova october 1, 2008. Had interview on November 5th. Once you get accepted into Nova they let you know about the scholarship. You apply for the scholarship once you have a spot. I interviewed for the scholarship on december 10th and got the award letter december 27th. program started january 6th i think. Scholarship is a panel interview. I read somewhere on here that Nova is no longer doing interviews. Anyways about working in ICU. after you graduate If their is positions open you can apply but generally they want atleast a year of med surg experience. They do have a residency program for critical care that starts in august they might take new grads. I will be looking into this when I graduate cause I also want to work ICU. Students who get the baptist scholarship have to attend the first semester of the program at the nova campus in Ft. lauderdale. and the program at nova is 27 long months non stop. There is a website that shows nclex passing rates for different schools. Look it up. check the rate for barry. I know nova is like 98-99% one of the highest in the state of FL. Hope this answer some of your questions.

Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Program
I got into Nova's BSN nursing program. I dropped of everything in person at 3pm the last day to apply which was october 1st for january and got in. I got interview in november and toook about 3 weeks to get acceptance letter. my gpa was 3.0 with Ws and one F. currently in my 5th semester. If you get an interview you are practically in. Nova doesnt waste their time and they are more focused on the interview than grades. Good luck!

I got into the nova BSN program. Im currently in my 5th semester. U dont attend classes at baptist. There is a campus in kendall nova campus. Once you are done u apply where you want to work. First you have to get into the nursing program and then apply for the scholarship. Your gpa is way better then my 3.0 when I got accepted. Nova is more about the interview. My advice go for it. Baptist is not hiring nurses who they didnt give scholarships to so it is a plus. Yes is a 3 year contract but atleast u will have a job!
