  1. OK, I have definitely been spending plenty of hours of my capstone assignments. Then what is the point of the mentor/ clinical site? What do they expect us to do at a clinical site that we cant do at home for the project?
  2. Hi! I am in my capstone course now and the guidelines for what is approved as immersion hours is unclear. I currently work as an RN. I have been meeting with my mentor but I heard that does not count? My teacher is no help.
  3. I applied to a position at alvarado hospital. Would it be appropriate to go to the unit in which i applied and hand deliver a copy to the unit manager? I would also tell them that i am very interested in working for them, and ask for advise on getting hired?
  4. I applied and did the online training today. I was nervous to give my ssn as well. I havent received any additional information yet. Im hoping to hear others opinions? Thanks
  5. Have you had any luck? I am also looking for a new grad program in Los Angeles.
  6. Good luck ladies!!!! Get started studying your dosage calculations book and the fluids and electrolyte book!!! :) You will thank me later, i promise!!! there isnt much time to study dosage calculations after school starts!!!
  7. Let them know that I will fill you in and I can grab whatever paperwork you need. I think Barbara is the one you need to talk to. If it's ok with them I can just call you and let you know what you missed :)
  8. Oh yay thats awesome!! It's really up to u. My question is if you don't go to orientation do you loose your spot or would you enter spring 2012?
  9. I am starting in FALL!!! :) Just found out! yay!
  10. Thank you!!!!! :) oh and Congrats!!!!!!!
  11. Good Luck in your nursing program EmeraldStar!!!!! :)
  12. It really depends on the courses. I wouldnt suggest taking 2 or more science courses at once as they usually have a lab also. I wish i would of taken my time and not rushed through my courses. I feel that i would of retained the information more and recevied better grades as a result!! Good Luck!!!!
  13. I'm 30 on the waitlist at Palomar and i am offically admitted for Fall 2012 but i may be getting in for Fall 2011 if a few more people decline entry! Ive been on the waitlist now for 2.5 years now. With budget cuts palomar is only accepting 18 students from the waitlist and 18 students from the new application pool.... My suggestion to BOTH of you would be to submit new applications and see if you can get in faster that way. You will not loose your space on the waitlist by applying using the new application procedure. It might be worth a shot :) Good Luck to you both!!
  14. I have friends that are single moms that are going back to school so if they can do it you can! Good Luck & Keep us posted :)
  15. You will be great!!!! :)
  16. I have seen that too thank you for asking!! Learned something new today :)
  17. I've only seen one licence plate with an RN on it and i didnt think anything of it. I just thought that is someone i look up to as a nursing student!
  18. i believe you! your not crazy!
  19. BeJuled: Why don't you try and do the bridge between lvn and rn? The first two semesters of RN school i believe is the stuff you already should of learned. I am pretty sure i will be starting in January 2012 unless people decline entry. We will see what happens. I'm in La right now but i'll be back down in SD for school! Hope we can be in the program together :)
  20. Hi! I got my acceptance letter but for Spring 2012! I guess with budget cuts palomar was only able to accept 18 students from the waitlist and 18 from the new application pool. ( Im #30) However, today i did get a letter inviting me to attend the orientation in May just incase people decline entry. I will be at the orientation!!! I hope i get in for Fall!!!! Hopefully we can get in together :)
