Olivet Nazarene FNP
Hello all! I will be starting ONU FNP program on August 22! Any future classmates? Feel free to PM me or email me at [email protected]. I've heard positive things about ONU but I would like more feedback about finding clinic sites. Any advice or recommendations? Thank you!

Experiences of Chamberlain Online RN to BSN Graduates
Hello fellow Chamberlain students! I've recently been accepted for the January 6th, 2014 start. They accepted my ADN and previous credits from a Bachelor's degree. I can finish as early as next October! For those that started in November, any advice? THANK YOU!!!

Online RN-BSN/MSN legit?
@traumaRUs, wow that's excellent! Congratulations! If you don't mind, please tell me which online programs/schools you were enrolled in and how long did it take to complete your MSN. (I know that it depends if you're full time or part time.) Thank you for your advice!!!

Online RN-BSN/MSN legit?
I am a nursing student working towards my ADN. I am very interested in completing my BSN or MSN after I get my RN license. Are ONLINE RN-BSN/MSN programs considered "legit" when looking for a job? Or do they want you to attend the campus and get hands on experience? I also have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Does that help?

Best part of Chicago -moving from NY
@Purpledrop! Hello and welcome to Chicago! If you're relocating with a 2nd grader and want a nice school system I would move to the NW sides of Chicago = Norwood Park, Jefferson Park, Sauganash (best), Edison Park, Lincoln Square. These areas are mostly single family homes with a middle class residents. A 2-bedroom apartment shouldn't be more than $1200 a month. I am not sure about a 2 year experience salary but I know that recent grads make about $25-30/hour depending on the hospital. Area hospitals would be Advocate Lutheran, Swiss Covenant, Resurrection Hospitals, Weiss... GOOD LUCK!!!

WSCN/Resurrection U. acceptance date?
@Manstat Congratulations! Do you mind sharing the overall and science GPA you had? I'm thinking mine is too low to be accepted. Thanks!
-
WSCN/Resurrection U. acceptance date?
@NinjaKitty Congrats on getting in! I applied last year but I was missing some courses and Mr. Miranda moved my application to Fall 2011. I retook the TEAS test this month and got 80.5%, which is more than the required 68%. (Happy about that one!) I applied to the day program. Fingers crossed!
-
WSCN/Resurrection U. acceptance date?
It was 80% last year. The advisor told me they changed it to 68% this year.
-
WSCN/Resurrection U. acceptance date?
Hey everyone! I sent in all of the materials to WSCN before April 1st and took the TEAS test on May 6th. Any idea when I should expect a letter? Before taking the test, Mr. Miranda (one of the academic advisors) told us that seats are still open. Did anyone get an acceptance letter yet? THANKS!!!

Richard J. Daley College Class of 2013

Nursing acceptance letter to Chicago City Colleges(Truman, Daley, or Malcolm X)
I don't know about the Truman rumor but this is what Daley's website says about its accreditation: The Nursing Program is NLNAC accredited: National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission Accreditation In the Fall of 2008 the Richard J. Daley College Nursing Program received NLNAC accreditation for 8 additional years. Written comments should be submitted directly to: Dr. Sharon Tanner, Executive Director, National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission Email: [email protected]

Chamberlain College of Nursing - Addison
Don't be nervous. I knew people who had a 2.76 and got in. I scored a 92 on the HESI due to getting a high score in reading and math. I scored in the mid 70s in science. I'd get the book and study the science part the most. While it's not hard, it goes back to your basic biology, anatomy, chemistry that most of us tend to forget (in my case, at least). GOOD LUCK! :)

Nursing acceptance letter to Chicago City Colleges(Truman, Daley, or Malcolm X)
I just received an e-mail. The lady who sent it said a formal letter is in the mail. I have until May 9th to respond to have my spot saved.

Accepted to a CCC nursing program?
Hey everyone! Congrats to those who got in. I just received an e-mail that I got into Daley. I'm happy but it is very far away from my house. I would have loved to be at Truman. I got B's in all of the pre-reqs. However, I have a Bachelor's in Psychology and I sent in a letter of recommendation from my employer. I've been a caretaker for over 3 years.

*calling all recent grads*
Hello, I am not a recent grad but I want to know your input about the job market. I heard that only 30% of all recent grads obtain a position ANYWHERE! Everyone needs prior experience, at least 1-2 years and it's very hard to get a job as a recent grad. Please send me your input/experience. THANK YOU ALL!

Chamberlain Chicago (NEW!!!)
Hey everyone! Has anyone applied to the new Chicago campus location of Chamberlain? I had no idea they were opening! I applied to Addison location and still haven't gotten a reply. The Chicago location is BRAND new, so anyone admitted for the Summer semester (Starting in July) would be the first graduating class, right? Please reply with any input or info! Thanks!!!
-
West Suburban College of Nursing
I applied to WSCN too but I still have to take the TEAS which is in a few days. Their deadline has been moved to June 1st so I think they will start mailing letters after that date. May I ask why you decided against Chamberlain?

Anyone REJECTED from Chamberlain (Addison)?
It is 2.75 which is what worries me. However, Angela knew that my GPA was low and told me to go ahead with my application. He reviewed my file before submitting it to the admissions committee. I really want to get in... I'll keep you updated. Thank for your help thus far! :)

Robert Morris (Chicago) Nursing
Hey everyone, Has anyone finished or currently attending the Robert Morris University's College of Nursing? I went to talk to the advisor yesterday and he told me the following information: It is a 2 year, associate's degree program. He told me that clinicals are conducted at UIC Medical Center, Northwestern, Mt. Sinai and another one that I can't remember at the moment. He told me that 84% of graduates report getting a job or going on to graduate school shortly after completing the program. The school has a decent reputation but I want to know people's experience with the program. Thank you to all!!!

Anyone REJECTED from Chamberlain (Addison)?
PS. I applied for Summer 10... but my application was complete only a week and a half ago because some schools did not send my transcripts on time. I am a nervous wreck! Chamberlain is my #1 choice school!

Anyone REJECTED from Chamberlain (Addison)?
Hi, sunkisst I applied with 85% on the A2 Hesi (High 90s in Math and Reading and mid 70s in Science). I got a 3.0 from a 2 year college (mostly pre-nursing courses) and I am finishing my B.A. in Psychology but my GPA is at 2.5. I had a great adviser, Angela, who recommended that I write a letter or personal statement explaining my less than perfect GPA. I also sent in 2 letters of recommendations, one from an employer and one from a professor (I am a research assistant in his lab). Overall, I believe my application is strong but I am worried I will be denied based on GPA. :/ Thanks for reading!

Chamberlain College of Nursing - Addison
Anyone been rejected from his place? I'm waiting on a letter from them to tell me that I'm either accepted or rejected for Summer '10. The waiting is KILLING ME! Let me know if you've gotten the dreaded letter and if you don't mind, what GPA/scores you applied with. THANK YOU!!!

Anyone REJECTED from Chamberlain (Addison)?
Hello, Has anyone applied for Summer/Fall/Spring semester at Chamberlain's BSN program in Addison, IL and gotten REJECTED? If so, I'd love to know what you applie with (GPA, A2 scores, letters of recommendation). I am very scared that I won't get in because my GPA is terrible. I got an 85% on the A2, and sent in two letters of rec's as well as a personal essay explaining my low grades. I am completing a BA in Psychology and switching careers because I decided nursing is the right choice for me after being a caretaker for 3 years. Any information would be helpful! Thank you to all!
