  1. I decided to go with pharmacological vs. non-pharmacological management of chronic pain
  2. I am starting my Capstone TODAY! How did you guys come up with a topic? I am really struggling with it and hate losing time not knowing what to write about. Worse comes to worse, I will just focus on hourly rounding, but I was just curious if any of you had a better idea.
  3. Anyone out there suffering through stats with me right now? I am in week 1 and can't wait for it to be over!
  4. After thinking long and hard I decided to go with recommended vaccinations for elderly.
  5. I am in week 5 of Community health and it looks like it is going to be a crazy busy one! Does anyone have any ideas what subject to pick to teach in a community setting?
  6. Is anyone else on here starting Concepts in Community and Public Health next week? I am! I looked at the syllabus and first 4 weeks don't look too too bad, week 5 however is giving me anxiety
  7. I am taking BSN
  8. How did you like it? I work full time, but have no other obligations other than my husband and pup :) I hope I can manage it...
  9. Starting my 13 month online RN - BSN at GCU on Monday 4/13!!! Anyone on here starting as well? I am kind of excited!
  10. I am starting my RN BSN online in April. Since I am foreign educated nurse I am looking for a program (I know it exists) to help me with writing papers (as far as layout, citations...)
  11. I thought I could use this post for my question as well. Are there any colleges that offer free transcript pre-evaluation (other than Grand Canyon University)?
  12. Yeah, tell me about it. Right now, Grand Canyon Uni sounds good to me. It's expensive I believe tho. But I don't wanna be going through a process with too many other schools because $$$ will add up quickly!
  13. I went with WGU first but was told due to my transcripts, it would take me 3 years to finish!!! I talked to GCU next and they told me 13 months... So I took WGU off my list. Too bad because they are cheap.
  14. I just paid $385 to have the transcripts sent to wgu. Any additional college is about $100.
  15. I applied at WGU, and had official transcripts evaluated by CGFNS sent in. I was super excited until they notified me that NONE of my credits could be transferred and I that I was looking at 3 years for completing my RN BSN program. Reason being is, I am a foreign educated nurse. The way the system works where I come from is, you can either go to school full time (Mon - Fri) OR part time (Fri, Sat), and do most work on your own. This was the option I took. The problem with that is, I obviously had less hours than a full time student. I am at my wits end and have no idea what to do... I would love to try different colleges, but CGFNS will charge to send my transcripts every single time!
  16. I just accepted a position as an RN at FH Fish memorial...I start orientation on 12/12/11
  17. I would love to have that phone number...
  18. I should go to orlando health or call them? or apply online?
  19. How did u land a job as a new grad?? I tried so many times, and was told they dont hire new grads (i have 2 years of exp. from europe).
  20. I graduated overseas but would love to specialize...how do I go after that?
  21. Yeah...I guess I am going to ask on my orientation. I was just so happy to land a job, that I wasn't even thinking of asking.
  22. Is it weird I start orientation in LTC on thursday and I still don't know what my salary is going to be?
  23. Geriatrics is my favorite field of nursing, so I am very thankful to land a LTC position earlier this month. I feel I can give the patients a lot, make their days more fulfilled, show them great care and I feel like they really appreciate it.
  24. woo hoo...congrats my fellow LTC nurse :)
  25. Personally me, I didn't start working yet, but I got a great first impression.
