  1. By occupation, early season flu vaccination coverage was highest among pharmacists (86.7%), nurse practitioners/physician assistants (85.8%), physicians (82.2%), nurses (81.4%), and other clinical professionals (72.0%). Flu vaccination coverage was lowest among administrative and non-clinical support staff (59.1%) and assistants or aides (46.6%). By work setting, early season flu vaccination coverage was highest among health care personnel working in hospitals (78.7%). Flu vaccination coverage was lowest among health care personnel working in long-term care facilities (54.4%).
  2. I think that happens with RN and BSN, people got the same salary, well I got 25 dollars every 2 weeks more. When I started in a new hospital the LVNs used to challenged and trick me to show me they knew more practical things, than me as BSN. I agree with you, but unfortunately we as nurses tend to disrespect our peers. We had a class in the school that put down new nurses who started FNP program, they told them they could not be good FNP if they did not have experience, which for me does not make sense, our view is different, we have a different perspective of the patient situation in my opinion. The lack of respect is also by class of nursing we do, for example the ICU nurses they feel they know more than Tele nurses, Tele nurses feel they know more than Med-Surg nurses.. etc. which is wrong.
  3. The way I see it is to gain respect of our profession, not now, but in the future. How many times have you seen a patient and they will ask why a nurse, like we know less, they want to see the doctor, thinking the will get less quality of care from a nurse, when is proven otherwise. Our profession has not received the respect that we show in the outcome studies. We are considered as middle level. The only way is to get in research, improve the outcomes with a well planned and systematic approach. Now, about the money, possibly will be the same as master. If I can, I will continue with a PhD, but DNP is more in line with my professional plan.
  4. I will agree about the money PMFB-RN, but the way I see it is to gain respect of our profession, not now, but in the future. How many times have you seen a patient and they will ask why a nurse, they want to see the doctor, thinking the will get less quality of care, when is proven otherwise. Our profession has not received the respect that we show in the outcome studies. We are considered as middle level... why?
  5. In Texas, for what I know is not pay difference between FNP and DNP.
  6. Wow, this is the first time I known someone who can take the test that quick. First you have to finish the program, UNTIL the last day of class, then the program director fax the paper to AANP, then they (AANP) have to email you the pass notification, then they give the code in the mail for the test, then you have to schedule your test which, usually is not whatever date you want, you have to select the date that is left, I personally have to wait for space of two weeks.... the first student in my class who pass took 25 days, we are 48. Then, I have not meet anyone going to the test without reading, preparing at least, most of us work and study, I know two who did not work and they spend more time studying... so, this sounds WAY to good to be true... about the review is not necessary, it may be possible, but I will think you have have to study in the last semester of school, which for us we have over 300 hrs of clinicals plus class... then, why to buy the 10 exam questions, if so, you already know what is in the test... they were helpful or just reinforce what you already know?... No problem with the answers? mmm, they were all correct? They say that many of the reviews in Amazon and other companies are written for people paid to give their opinion because "reviews" work as a marketing tool... so... I am not sure about your comment. Thanks for sharing...
  7. Mid level: Set you up below some other professional... we are not more or less than any MD, or PA, we are different, we are trained differently, our background is different. We work with everybody, PT, OT, RT, etc. (we are team oriented), and the patient is more than an illness to "heal", they are people, and they have family and other factors which makes a difference in how we assist them.
  8. That's the problem... it could be anywhere, but the internet is not the best source anyways
  9. Thank you Senny.ANP.FNP Having a prior practice helped another classmate, she was Acute Care NP.
  10. Thank you for sharing. I also think knowing about how they do questions is very important, they have a great tips about their questions in the first volume of their review (ANCC). Many of my questions in AANP were 1st level, were you have straight question with a straight answer. Second level that you have to think how to answer and there are 2 factors playing were some questions in the test and third level were they talk about an illness but they mingle with other illness or complication and you have to take that in your consideration for your answer are just a few. The stats, ethics, legal are in my opinion straight forward.
  11. Thank you SuccessfullLady. I am sorry, the ANCC books, they have 2 volumes, and the 1,000 FNP necessary questions from https://www.necessaryworkshops.com/books/NECESSARY-FNP-1000-QUESTIONS--3. Exam Edge have a website for each test available, many questions are the same, I think if you have questions they should help you to do well in the test, no matter what test. I understand that ANCC has more research, stats, administration, but in general the questions should prepare you for any test, and the level should be the same. I believe that, the way you prep for the test should be different, ANCC and AANP has differences for the content, duration and way they present the questions, now I have not taken the ANCC and I want to see if is a large difference in the medical questions level. I know this year the AANP conference had an open session about people who want to write questions for the test. The process for ANCC was longer (6 weeks!) and problematic (First the form was wrong, then the ANCC processor person could not find my program director form until I called and complained with anyone (and everyone), even my director sent another email with the copy of the form, which was all correct), AANP replied and processed the application in days, was really well done, and great instant communication about my questions. The reporting to my board takes also longer time from ANCC than AANP, those are cons to consider. Well you can get your permit faster if you pay 200 dollars more! A classmate got ANCC the same time than I got AANP
  12. I will NOT recommend them, is putting your money in the trash can.
  13. I completely agree with you, they should be reported to the BBB
  14. Mr. redlion777 You sound more like NOT an NP, you way to think is different. Nurses value partnership, no a boss who can make money out of you because he is the boss. The idea to make money as MD is silly, we ALL know if you want to be a doctor go to med school, but LOWER THE BAR TO BE NP??? I can tell you that I know some MD with subspecialty makes less money than a NP for a fact, but they love what they do and work for a health system. The view as NP "VALUE" if you are one, WHICH I will question, is different, we are not only for the money, but we understand when someone wants to take you for a ride. I knew a LVN who did ALL the stress test for a cardiologist for a simple salary, is that fair? I guess we all need a job, and is always someone who will do it. Is that legal, maybe not. That is why some doctors end in Jail and some they get a big fines by Medicare/Medicaid.
  15. Congratulations LubbockNP!~
  16. Congratulation and thank you for sharing. Do they tell you if you passed after the test? I am thinking to take the ANCC just to see how different they are, I am worry if I did not pass what the board of nursing will do. How long did you study for the ANCC? In the AANP if you take a break takes time from your test time, is the same in the ANCC? Do they have sounds for lung, heart or others?
  17. I did not find www.familynpprep.com useful, and the questions are not like the test.
  18. Thank you NJprisonrn I was thinking to do the same, review PA material, but I was not sure they will cover the information in the same way, our view is more nurse like, which for me is better, more complete. NURSING RULES~!
  19. Congratulations SuccessfullLady and NJprisonrn! I must agree with you SuccessfullLady about the lack of info about the tests in the site, usually you find just about everything, about the questions, tests, and other small, but very important points related to it, so sharing works for all of us, and you help is great, thank you~!. I came today after passing the AANP thinking about that issue so I want to do the same, I am glad that you did it first since I am little tired now. I was so worry about the test. No test can be taken lightly and my advice is to take it as is, an important test that we NEED to pass. I did want to say about my previous experience with FamilyNPprep.com it was bad, those questions are not like the real test, and they should at least be straight about it and tell up front, but when I talked to the people the repeated the same thing. That site and the www.hesiprep.com did not help me at all with that test, questions and format were so off to the real tests, and many are wrong. I found that we need a diversity of the sources we use to take these tests. I believe we do not have one that is clearly better above all, I must say Barkley was a good source and he has the pointers from APEA and FHEA. I dislike the way they sell, is just about money, I know, everything is about money, but you need to understand your clients and their needs. They are not like Kaplan and Hurst, which they let you review as long as you need it (you do not need more than 3 months anyway), we used those services because we need them, but they should understand that repetition helps us to understand and review, one time and you are out is silly to me. The questions of the review tests are from the review material so if you know their material you perform well on their tests, that fact made me worry A LOT, since I was not sure if that was a real sample score which I could compare, or was just a reflection of that I knew their material. I had the AANP books, but they are way too long, and to review them is hard, I did one third of the first volume and quit. I like the 1,000 necessary questions since they help you to pull the material you need to know and differentiate between similarities, for example children rashes, vaccinations, HIV, which are not well presented in the APEA or FHEA material or presentations. I want to take the ANCC to see the difference between the tests, but I hate tests, so I am not sure if I will do it, but I know I love the challenge. Best to all of you.
  20. That is clear, but I think answering questions for an interview will give any applicant heads up about the questions she/he may have Theses forums help us to improve in many ways...
  21. I am sorry, I just got your message, but as a practice maybe I can give you a short answer... my interviews were more about my previous experiences and how I fit with the team, is difficult to interview about knowledge with 4-5 people in the interview...
  22. How are the questions? I seen some samples and there are a lot of negative, EXCEPT, but, the least of.... which are confusing for me, also ALL THAT APPLY... with many boxes, so if you miss one, ALL the question is wrong. Is this kind of question in the real HESI FNP test?
  23. lisswatas, thank you for your list! Kellerman Necessary NP 1000 questions was the book or at website, the site is expensive~ It will be worthed to pay for ANCC questions?
  24. mommyof2tees thank you, that is nice. keldel i will pray for you again next thursday...
  25. thanks for your prayers... i passed! what about you?.. i was nice... 75 q's and go home... i took over 2:30 hrs, i did each questions slowwwwwllly, i did not want to miss "obvious" tricks they usually have... and they do... wwwwoooowww what a relieve it is. thank you guys, everybody help me with info here and there, i was able to see trends, places to study and read… thank you!
