  1. Hi there I would not mine chatting. Message me your contact info.
  2. Hey everyone, I've been away for a while. Why? Well because I decided to get my certificate in Psych Mental Health NP. I was serving a population that had such a high rate of patients with psychiatric disorders that I wasn't comfortable treating unless I had the proper training. So I went back to school and sat for my ANCC boards a month ago and passed. I wanted to share my resources with you for those who may be studying for their Psych NP boards. 1) I used the ANA Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice book. This book helped me to review everything about how an PMHNP practices. All the law, ethics, etc. 2) ANA PMHNP Review and Resource manual. It really helped me to study the specific areas that would be on the test. This is a very important resource for all those studying for this exam. Dont miss out on it! 3) Fitzgerald Psych Mental Health NP Exam Review. I love everything Fitzgerald. And to be honest I felt as if so much of the review was on the exam. I literally listened to this audio recording and read this manual in and out for an entire 6 weeks. This is a very valuable resource 4) I did buy the ANCC test question bank. It was great to test my general knowledge of the content. I figured that they make the test, why not study the test questions. I wrote down all rationals to questions I got wrong.* 5) I also did buy some extra test question from Exam Edge, like I did with my FNP. They are good practice questions, but I wouldn't recommend buying more than a bundle of 5 because the questions seemed to repeat themselves after that. But good practice with answering questions. I did use that same discount code from when I used it years ago that seem to not expired interestingly and got like 10-15% off. That code is SAVE-SLLT. These are all of the resources that I used to pass this exam the first time. The exam is tough and no joke. I literally was sweating through the entire 4 hours. But if well prepared everyone should do well. If you are looking for the Fitzgerald review material please inbox me. I still have and willing to sell.* Good luck everyone!

  4. Hello everyone!! It's been a while since I check this thread. I am so happy to hear of all the success with passing both AANP & ANCC exams. I am so very excited and proud of you all. Now off to caring & treated these patients that we read so much about. I am so happy to have been of help to you all. I just had to share the resources that helped me to get through that stage in my career. Many blessings to you all.
  5. You will find some ethical type questions on the exam dont focus too much about the research when it comes to AANP. I also recommend studying 2 hours at a time with 1 hour mental break. I know this is hard but as your test approach you need to relax. I took walks, cooked and did everyday activities that briefly distracted me from the exam. My plan was focus, focus, distract, and focus. I know that you are prepared and I trust that we all will be celebrating with you soon. I am lifting you up in prayer and I know that God will not fail you now. Just study, prayer, and speak your success into existence. I called myself FNP-BC/NP-C for weeks before my exams...LOL.
  6. Praying for you and I know that God will help you through. Just relax and retain...You will do wonderfully!
  7. Congratulations AtomicWoman!!!!! I know that you are relieved that this chapter of your life is FINALLY closed. So happy for you...
  8. AANP is purely diagnosis, evaluation, planning & implemenation. Keep those in mind with every question that you come across. You don't have to worry too much about theory & research. They may come but it will mostly be about np role and certification/licensure.
  9. So sorry that it took me a while to answer your post. The website had something going on. Anyways, I didn't feel like Fitzgerald or Hollier covered legal/ethical/policy enough and I decided to do the online questions on familynpprep.com ANCC test data bank and used the kellerman book. Read my original post for more infornmation on the website. It is a great tool and covers the subject areas very well. Everyone is free to ask me as many questions as they like...we NPs stick together:)
  10. I think you are doing well..the website has 20 (100 questions) exams available to buy for the exams. I would just do that and review rationales. Write down the answers to the questions that you miss. I even recorded myself reading my rationales so that I could listen to them as I drove, workout or whatever. And remember that the exam has 150-ANNP/175-ANCC questions, so dont over whelm yourself. And as I said before just remember that common diseases occur commonly. I know that you will do wonderfully. You just have to believe it as well...
  11. Hi AtomicWoman, You did not misread the post I did take both. I am sort of a "what if girl" and the fact that I failed the ANCC in June and had to wait 90 days made me really nervous. So I didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket and applied to take both. I will probably only keep up with one to be honest, but I felt most comfortable knowing that I had the extra opportunities to be certified. Also I was angry at myself for failing the ANCC by 2 points and really wanted to prove to myself that I knew the information. So it became a challenge...Good luck on your exam. I'm sure you will do great.
  12. Hi Neelia06, I bought the Necessary Family Nurse Practitioner 1000 Practice Questions Book by Kellermann. It had questions in random order. It was not categorized. I ordered the book from necessaryworkshops.com. You will be ready. Just remember that you have 150 questions and they can't put everything on the exam. Focus on common disease that occur commonly and what you as the NP should do or know about them. Go on the AANP website and review the testing domains. Besides Kellermann, which other resources are you using. I would truly recommend familynpprep.com. I think it will help easy your anxiety and help you feel comfortable anwering exam style questions. Read about it on my main post. I hope I have helped...please keep me updated on your success.
  13. No problem, bayouchick02...you will do wonderfully. Just take a deep breath and know that you have all you need to pass the test. With God's grace and your preparation you'll do great. I'm happy my tips were of help to someone. Please keep me updated on your success.
  14. Kourt2213, So sorry to hear that you didn't pass. I too had the same happen to me with the ANCC during the summer then I took it again last week and passed as well as I took the AANP and passed. I studied from Fitzgerald (and took her course and have her cds), Leiks, Hollier, Kellerman and a website familynpprep.com which has data base full of questions that you can buy in bundles. My friend/classmate recommended this site and I love her for it and have to share it with others who are in the same position that I was in. She gave me a coupon code to use to save 10% save-sllt. I have to say that I couldn't have passed without and I want everyone to know about it. Spread the word and you will do wonderfully next time. Give your self plenty of time to study...write down the rationales to questions that you got wrong in a note & review them. I even recorded myself reading the rationales so I can listen while exercising. You just have to figure out what works for you.
  15. Aslingtl, I will be lifting you up in prayer. Your post really touched my heart and I know exactly how you feel because I felt that way in June. Just know that you are not a failure and God has not bought you this far to let you go now.
